You can fix shining by changing the default roughness in the RTX Remix menu, if possible also you should disable shadows in the original game option menu as they are not needed and are just creating artifacts

can you verify that the widescreen fix that includes the d3d8 to d3d9 works? Maybe that doesnt work for you for some reason or is wrongly configured. Do you see DXVK_HUD or does mangohud show DXVK being used?

*For this to work in Windows 10 / 11* Follow all instructions via Xpander in his description. Run Payne in Administrator Within the settings prompt, Change acceleration to D3D Software (not Hardware) For my own troubleshooting I reset all settings to low. Lastly ensure you're OS Screen res is not 4k, otherwise your mouse will not work ingame. Thanks for the showcase Expander, exciting times.

The ridiculous shininess actually reminds me of this era of gaming and the ways they tried to make it look fancy. Remember when lens flares were all the rage? I think Unreal had a few sprite based lensflares and there were games that had weapons that basically fired lens flares. Plus when we went from software rendering with defined pixels on textures to opengl and such, textures looked blurry and overly smooth. I thought it was super cool at the time and I wanted to get a Voodoo card.

NOTE! The video intention is not to showcase how ugly it looks. Its meant for those who would like test this "wrapper" with games, fiddle with dev settings etc. The Public release of Nvidia's RTX remix isn't even out yet! This only sort of works with games that use fixed-function graphics pipeline. No Shadermodel 2.0+ support in this. So basically every game after 2003/2004 won't work.
