the article you shared is more like speculation also.. while yeah its not even confirmed it showed up for linux when it was marked for pre-order at first imo? might be that the person who talked there didnt even know or the linux/mac versions are coming a bit later.. it will still make into 2015 probably.. will see though

its probably mistake like with that other game (pro evolution soccer if i recall it correctly), just adding openVR triggers linux into the list somehow. so dont get your hopes up if you are fan of this series

***** nowadays WM/DE shouldnt make much difference.. well that is ofc if you have gaming hardware anyway... the only framerate differences might be from composite stuff that the WM is using.. but those usualy are pretty small also.. at least with nvidia

i dont think there is such thing as best for gaming..its matter of personal choice.. nowadays desktop environment doesnt make huge difference to framerate. only things that can decide really is the video drivers, kernel updates and other bundled software. arch is bleeding edge..so it migh have the latest fixes in.. or it might have regressions

wait what.. Bioshock Infinite was just launched for linux and Carmageddon is still not out for linux and its in beta for windows ..rest of them are not released either..apart from some tech demos or early builds

***** lower end games, good old valve games should all work just fine ... and then some 2D or 2.5D games probably.. just forget metro, bioshock, dying light and similar

Linux is what I use for my workhorse laptop but my gaming PC has windows. 8.1 and most of these games have been able for a long time my god linux is so slow at getting games but I am happy it's starting to catch up

Xpander69 Yeah but most of them are indie's... I got no issues with indie's it's just some are really boring and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of AAA support at the moment, Ubisoft and RockstarGames, if only they'd port their games to linux :/

TheMCPEGamer yeah it all takes time. there isnt enough market yet to get all the new triple A titles at the launch, but its slowly getting there. i dont have windows at all.. i got plenty of games on linux to play plus there are some that work perfectly on wine so i dont really need windows to play games.. don't have that time to play all the games that are natively on linux anyway.. over 1000 games on steam alone are for linux atm

actually yes and no, yes there are hardware manufactuers for microsoft and linux with slave labor but not its not 100% true because some parts are made in nations with Labor laws. In otherwords no Linux and Microsoft arent just as guilty not to mention not all linux and mcrosoft manufacturers price things as bad as Apple some do or worse where as apple stands by 1 price range and thats as high as they can get away with.

well lets see apple is one of the most infamous companies world wide they provide conditions to harsh suicide rate is off the charts. We pay 5x the hardware value to watch people in other nations suffer 100 fold why else would I call apple the worst it doesnt matter its capabilities its cancer to the world morally. However I am not damning the users of apple I just find their practices wrong. Linux is friendly I love its attempt at being for the user.
