Which kernel do you recommend for NVIDIA card owners?

Doesn't really matter much from my experience. Its more of a choice for the CPU. on my 5800X3D currently pds and stock kernel seem to perform the best. xanmod a bit worse and zen is pretty bad.. but the differences are like 3% on CPU bound scenarios. So yeah not much differences. edit: and it will have small differences depending what you benchmark and test, but i havent seen any huge differences tbh. I just like pds and xanmod a bit more because my desktop is more responsive with those when theres high i/o activity going on or compiling something full blast. stock and zen kernels make the desktop lag a bit but thats very minor.

About your note of TAA enabled, I felt like it disabled itself between plays and I'd have to sometimes disable/re-enable it. It's an interesting game but the force-fed story and dry characters I interact with make me want to punch my monitor. Edit: also, trying a 3D pan (Alt+Right-Click, drag) within the map takes my system down, you?

TAA gets disabled if you fiddle with FSR or DLSS settings it seems. 3D pan works without issues here. maybe your alt key is used by your window manager for something why its having issues for you? I kinda like the story. Theres lots of cringe moments though, but overall i like the very strange story on this game. Looks like the online features are down for a second day in a row now though and this game is very painful without those as you have to build every damn bridge yourself then.

Hey, I have never tried boosteroid. I have tried geforce now and google stadia and both being horrible for my taste with the input lag and kinda bad image quality. I understand that when you dont have decent enough gaming machine, but have very good internet and servers kinda close to you, then you can get a decent experience. I would suggest trying geforce now first as it has i think 2 hours free to try before commiting to it.

can you please test the second region of the game, thats the most demanding nd least optimized area of the game, on Window 11 my average fps are always unstable nd the 1 % lows are extremely violent, the game always feels stuttery regardless of resolution of choice. Im using 6950xt with 5800x3d. I just want to know for sure, if Linux offers better nd stable performance to make the game feel buttery smooth, can you please observe that nd report if you can.

Sorry i dont have the game installed anymore. I finished it all on Linux with ~60 hours of gameplay. The only issue i encountered was that if you played long sessions like 6-8 hours in a row it leaked a bit of system RAM and was using quite a bit then. Luckily i had 32GB, but game itself reached to 20GB used at times. THat was way back though, things have changed software wise and probably few game updates also. Cant remember having any issues with the frametimes though.

yes. Its pretty much a needed thing for this game unless you really like to grind all the structures alone.

i dont know, i dont like flatpaks or use them.. but my guess is that you haven't enabled steam play in the steam settings
