TOP 10 of Native Games that got released this year for linux (including beta's and alphas)

NOTE! That is My List... yours might be totally different!

There were many noteworthy games this year to linux like: Hotline Miami, Amnesia, Dota 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Verdun, Legends of Aetherus, Painkiller Hell and Damnation and so on, that didn't fit into my list but i'm sure are played a lot.

I can't believe you didn't included iRacing (yes, I know it's your list, I'm writing this with respect). For most of the expert people it's the best comercial racing simulator ever, and finally, this year was released for Linux and Mac too, including with a working force feedback, that it's a thing that, despite of being supported by the kernel, is hard to configure and making it work well with most of the racing games. I don't really know if it is 100% native (then I would understand not to be included here), but I'm sure that the official release of iRacing for Linux is one of the best contributions could ever be made for racing simulation in Linux. I mean that there's other very good racing simulators (rFactor 2, Live for Speed, GTR Evolution, GT Legends, Netkar Pro...), but for most of the experts iRacing is the best, AND IT'S JUST THAT WHICH HAVE BEEN RELEASED FOR LINUX. Virtual racing drivers who likes linux (or linux users who likes virtual racing :p ) couldn't be so in luck. Cheers.

Can you see in that video how the "pull" sticker in the right of the car is varying it's waves depending on the wind speed, curves and bumps? The rest of physics (tyres, suspension, heat...) and the way they affect to the racing car driving, as well as the surface laser scanning of the real circuits, are equally achieved.

Eho419 thatswhy i noted its my personal top10 ...i have yet to try Spacebase DF-9.. but it seems not my type of game really. if i made the top 10 now i would probably put Rust into pole position.. cause thats the game that has been so fun lately for me personaly.. and its only in really alpha state.

Yeah. it was, sorry I could've be more specific. Great video by the way:) I'm surprised M:LL didn’t score higher, Windows gamers usually are putting it on this spot, and they have more games to choose from:P But then again, I would probably put Spacebase DF-9 on No.1, so i guess its all about amount of fun WE have with the game:)

Andi Makkuraga i tried.. i have about 3-4 hours on it on my account... but not really my thing..too deep learning curve. i'm kinda used with LoL ...more simple approach.. and now the Strife Beta... Strife actualy seems this type of game that is more suited to me... as i dont have much time to put into those.

Hatlabu Farkas their linux drivers are awful indeed... there are opensource drivers however... which are more stable but then performance takes a hit.. and with ubuntu 12.04 (quite an old distro) you probably need xorg-edgers ppa to get the newest opensource driver updates to make this game even work at all. Nvidia is currently the best way to play games on linux without issues and good performance

SIDE WINDER i have no idea about blackshot but i know that CSGO works pretty much flawlessly with wine..and ofc the native port is in the works as well... just dunno when released... laptops arent really good for gaming imo.. specialy under linux where optimus hardware is used.. cause with integrated gpu the performance sucks and switching to nvidia card can be troublesome.....theres driver called bumblebee for that though..dunno how good it is now a days

DeadOrAlive - Mac and Console Gaming well its not that bad..if you have the latest and greatest distro that has been updated then its not that bad..but it might still have issues with this and that... if you could fit geforce 750 or something into the budget you would be pretty much settled for the future...probably amd drivers will be better at some point..but it takes some more time . Ubuntu and Mint use the same base packages.. so the updates are similar.. you need a Edgers repo to get the latest and greatest

Yeah, but it's a $300 build, I could try and get a GeForce gt, but I might not be able to do it. Is and bad for all Linux distros, or just Ubuntu. And what do you thinks better Ubuntu or mint

i wouldnt do that.. first of all high end APU is like low end dedicated GPU in terms of performance.. secondly AMD prop drivers suck under linux and opensource drivers, while improving a lot, are still lacking performance and features. if you want a serious gaming then nvidia is a must currently.

X-series also runs in Linux native-mode. Terran conflict, Albion prelude and all the previous ones. Same fps in linux as in Windows last I tested, 6 months ago.
