If you attempt to enable RT with a AMD card with this game on Linux; BAD things happen (even with amdgpu-pro drivers etc).
RT is just either ultra slow or super unstable/broken for AMD cards still. Bit annoying.

Yeah, the prices are still kinda insane. I managed to get my RTX 3080 with 915€, which is still quite a lot, but nowere as insane as it used to be. I really don't want AMD tbh, cause i need cuda and nvenc mostly and i havent really had any problems running with nvidia anyway. AMD is nice and all with their opensource drivers, but yeah...

@@xpander69 This is why I'm still using my Vega 56. I'm waiting for another generation of ray tracing from AMD before I upgrade as it's not good enough with their top offerings. I just hope prices drop by that point. I'm not paying 1000+ on a gpu.

Yeah its pretty bad from what i hear, but its also the hardware in general. they don't have dedicated stuff for raytracing. This will probably change with the next GPUs in line as even intel enters with raytracing cores. This game looks pretty good with RT and runs superbly also (on nvidia at least), but RT in this is a bit more basic also.

gpu-screen-recorder isn't fully optimized yet, but could you try if you get better performance by recording the game window instead of using nvfbc? there might be some new performance issue with nvfbc. The gui has a new option to record the focused window (plus with hotkey). If you are using only 1 monitor then you also have the option of screen direct recording which possibly can give you better fps as well, as it skips a screen copy (for fullscreen games).

ok, from further testing it seems video editors that use mlt(melt) struggle with files created by gpu-screen-recorder. Audio is being out of sync and framerates are inconsistent. Kdenlive and Shotcut for example. It was fine with gpu-screeb-recorder commits more than 14 days ago, but now the video editors that use melt are struggling with the files. video players play fine. I don't know what to do about it. Do you happen to know what could cause this?

@@xpander69 Yeah im the author. Ok good to know that the audio issue seems to be fixed, I made a few commits that touches audio sync later on so that might have fixed it. The fps issue could be related to very large recorded files. I tried recording a video myself and it was 45gb for 10 minutes, thats over 70megabytes/second, thats way too large. It might have got messed up somewhere. I decreased it now so it might help. I also improved nvfbc recording performance and it should be as fast as technically possible now, and if you record all monitors (in direct mode) then it will do 0 texture copies.

I tried with several video players (VLC, smplayer, mpv). But i cant produce that issue anymore. Recording now seems fine again. Maybe it was just some weird random issue on my side when i was recording this video. Ofc the video here is edited and i synced the audio manually. But it seems it records fine now. I guess you are the tool author? Thank you for making this tool. edit: the audio needed adjustment of -237 frames ( well at least it sounded in sync around that area when i edited it)

Do you have a timestamp where the audio is out of sync? or does than happen with specific video players? technically 59.6 and 59.9 fps should be fine. I cant really go back to the previous version because it was completely broken if the game fps dropped below 60fps even if only for a few frames and it was broken on fedora

I didnt try window recording yet. My previous videos were fine, but there was an update that made it weird. basically the video it records isn't 60fps thats specified, but it varies from 59.6 to 59.9 FPS making it weird. Audio was also a bit out of sync, i see there were commits about trying to get audio on sync, but it just made it broken for me. All was working as expected with commits made 10+ days ago, so something messed up somewhere.
