The performance is crap on linux no matter what hardware. I'm running with AMD 8350 @5GHz and nVidia MSI GTX 970 and i get the same results as video. Indoors stuttery performance between 30-100FPS (sometimes i could get 25FPS) you feel the game is not smooth at all. But once you go outside you kan just ctrl + alt + F4 the game for me it drops down to 14-20FPS avg even with everything set on low.

Yeah, consoles will be running 720/900p a lot of the time with no filtering at all in some cases, and also have access to 3.5 / 4GB of VRAM out of the box (xbox one and ps4) which may help a bit compared to someone on a 1/2GB vram card. game still looks cool though just hope they get it fixed, I'll wait before i buy it.

MrLoggfreak well as i can see windows users experience the same.. a bit smaller drops though..but pretty much same crap when reaching outside in game. and consoles are running 720p and 30 fps probably + more optimized for those i think... will have to wait for the patch... hopefully its fixed rather sooner than later

which means it's just ubisoft quality porting, only on linux really hope they fix it, because if performance stays this bad i won't even be able to run it 660TI might not be the most powerfull graphics now, but it's still far beyond the consoles they happen to run on perfectly fine

my CPU is 4.3Ghz which is more than 8350 which is recomended. as of GPU yeah, im not even hoping to run it on max settings.. 660Ti is weak now..but its well above minimum..but this game wont even run if i turn everything to minimum

***** It even says on the wiki Xpander69 linked there is several ways to install the drivers. One where you add a custom repo where you install with pacman and ita a little less mess than with AUR. ***** thanks , I will check on that.. Easiest for AMD gaming+Arch right now is manjaro tbh( so it seems) I just don't know how updated their catalyst packages is.

snabel a https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/AMD_Catalyst .. i think the repo holds back xserver updates also because drivers wont support.. but im not sure..in any case if something like this happens you can always downgrade and ignore the package updates until fglrx has gained support

Yeah I have been there reading and AMD drivers is pulled from the repositories. :( the one thing I'm afraid of is because its rolling release and I get frequent updates on xserver etc it will break my install because of proprietary drivers... I will check it out

what platform? not the case for linux.. its using 42% of my cpu (12.5% is one full core on my 8 core) and it spreads the work around nicely on multiple cores.. adding GL Threading it takes 52% and spreading all around nicely as well. picture to prove it: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28788188/ss_27012015_14.42.59.png my problem is that GPU is bottlenecking..and apitrace revealed that they have 23k calls per frame..which is huge amount of driver overhead: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28788188/ss_27012015_16.31.14.png UE4 engine demos for example have 4-6k per frame...so if they fix this and reduce the calls per frame..we can get a lot better performance

Xpander69 Well. I cant open the file you see. It dosen't even let me change which program it is. Its says its like a pausescreen file. Its just weird. I can look at the file in the winrar program i use to open the data0.pak thingy then i can look at the file and see the text inside it. But i cant remove and or change letters. And if i extract the file. Bam its a pausescreen file that i cant open

im not sure about windows.. sorry i dont have windows.. .but you should try some editing program like notepad++ or similar to open it.. also extract it first. maybe windows is so stupid and says that because it doesnt have any application attached to *.scr file? so you have to use "open with" or what ever its called in windows and then select your text editor.

Well you sound so certain about that, I know someone who has a GTX-980 and plays this with no problems despite the glitches within the game. If you have performance problems on a set-up like that, then your computer needs to be optimized a lot better, perhaps de-fragmenting and updating drivers and OS. I have a 660, yes it's a dated card but I use it and think it's greatly underestimated especially if you optimize it.

havent seen any proof of that.. i highly doubt... the problem is the game.. doesnt matter which CPU or GPU you have..performance will suck even on i7 4770K and GTX 980

+Tomas Sandven you should really update your drivers.. 340 are quite old(i had 346.xx ones when i created this video ~10 months ago).. i think even 2 years old? we are on 355 atm, but 352.xx should be fine

Xpander69 I *am* talking about right now. I consider the game unplayable on my PC at the moment. I'm using a GTX 780 and Nvidia's official drivers (340.93), and the shadows and lighting is absolutely messed up. It all seems to be connected to the sun, so disabling the sun shadows might fix it. I'll try that later.
