do you know if you can activate the engine console from Linux? On windows it has to be done with a trainer that does some DLL injection funkiness and I doubt I can get that to run on Linux... Also do you know if you can get above 250 fps when playing on low settings with your hardware?

Having tried everything myself now, I'm getting much lower FPS than you. I have a r9 3900x and a 1080 Ti, which should be similar to your setup. Weird... I'll do some further testing. Thanks for your baseline! :)

@@xpander69 Thanks a lot! I'm kinda tempted to install the nvidia-vulkan-dkms package again, since nvidia-beta-dkms isn't up to date, but I remember how terribly supported the vulkan-dkms package was (sometimes it was flagged outdated for months) do you know if they improved on that?

the latest 5.4-3 version (https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases). Terrible performance with nvidia was with older drivers. the new vulkan beta 440.66.07 fixes the performance issues on nvidia cards

@@xpander69 Console should be Tilde with american layout. Unfortunately Tilde is Ctrl+Alt++ on the German keyboard, so I'm not sure if that'll work here >_> Thanks for the tips with FPS! :) One more question: Which exact version of GE 5.4 do you use? On protondb I read everywhere that they get terrible performance with nvidia gpus

no idea about console thingy.. sorry. at the lowest settings i was able to see over 400 fps, so yeah it can go over 250. In the escape menu i also have ~450 fps with my current graphical settings. 450 seems to be the engine cap
