needed to copy ubiorbitapi_r2.dll and ubiorbitapi_r2_loader.dll from assasins creed 3, original ones somehow gave error c0000142.

also need to switch to win 7 mode in winecfg, otherwise unhandled page fault.
game runs fairly smooth with medium/high settings.

NVIDIA users make sure you use threaded Optimizations (gives nice performance boost:

change the windows mode to win 7. seems like u are running in xp mode... but if thats not the issue then its something new and u should try to post this bug in winehq or something

try killall pulseaudio and start game after that. also u can try to change to simultaneous and nonsimultaneous output if u have that option under ur sound properties

yeah scopes do not have crosshairs.. makes it harder to master..but its not really bad if u get used to it...sniper mission was pretty hard that way... and yeah the ways it fixes for windows users doesnt fix for wine..so i have also no idea. my appdb test hasnt still been approved. i pointed some glitches out there.

You can also put "pasuspender" before the command to launch the game, or at least you can for Steam games (Black Mesa) It suspends PulseAudio for that application but doesn't kill it outright

not really. at least not with windows games (most cases) and bad ports some native games might have better performance than the same game on windows. but its all up to drivers and hardware and quality of the ports.

I am getting and error with FC3updater.exe on launch, uPlay and the Map Editor open fine, I updated with the 1.04 patch, changed to Windows 7 in wine config, but still no go :( Do those .dlls fix it? Where can I download them if I don't have AC3?

currently wine 1.5.22 on Arch Linux 64bit. just played the game again today, it seems to run even better now..dunno if its caused by new wine or my switch from mint to arch.

well i ran it under mint before i switched. and mint is based on ubuntu. so i assume it should work with some tweaking. head over to winehq to check out whats needed

wel lthose drivers give some perf boost, specially when u want to use THREADED_OPTIMIZATIONS ... any driver over 310.x is fine.. im currently using 313.18 drivers.

yeah, its using a lot of CPU power so there is almost nothing remaining for recording software

Yeah i understand, when running my xsplit with my 6 core xeon at 3.4 it still runs slow trying to get 1080 at 30 fps out of it, just did not know if it was because running it via linux or not, i am looking into making the transition i just dont know how well i can game, playing stuff like arma2, and steam through all my stuff, hard to get them all to work correctly.

dont make full switch ...test it on spare drive first. getting games to work in wine migh be sometimes challenging. but the experience comes over the time. and -20% performance loss is guaranteed with the switch because of the directx to opengl translations wine is doing.

you can buy it from steam or uplay or any other online shop. then the download is done by either steam or uplay.

>LD_PRELOAD="libpthread.so.0 libGL.so.1" Shouldn't you just be using LD_LIBRARY_PATH? LD_PRELOAD is to force linking library files that the program doesn't require. Is there a reason for using LD_PRELOAD instead of just putting all of your libraries in a directory and adding it to LD_LIBRARY_PATH? It's what I do for native games that require Ubuntu versions of libraries.
