PlayOnLinux 4.1.9 (dead space 2 perfix used, wine version changed to 1.5.23)
Sound recording out of sync again until 2 minutes in the video.
Damn you Pulseaudio!
nocd exe was used to bypass that origin crap
downloading via origin doesnt work either ... http erros all the way
graphical settings set to high, vsync on to smooth the framerate.

1680x1050 in this video windowed and vsynced. i am able to play at 1920x1080 as smooth as thisone also, but i used windowed mode because of the recording to be able to alt tab out normally, with fullscreen it went weird after i alt tabed out. and i have no idea what the vsync on framerate is. but its smooth as butter.

according to Totalbiscuits video the vsync caps it to 30 frames per second somehow. so that was the case why it was so smooth with that on, probably without it it jumped up to 60 or more and at some places fell down to 40 or so and that didnt feel smooth

i used the playonlinux dead space 2 prefix. so i dont really know what it installed, by looking at dll overrides it seems that it installed dx11 along with xact and stuff (thatone came with the game i think) and also vcrun2005. rest is all at default

install paprefs and pavucontrol via pacman, and when you start recording go to pavucontrol and under recording tab set the ffpeg script to monitor the built in audio output.
thats all

no u dont need. u can just install it with regular wine as well.
but for ease of use. playonlinux v4.1.9 and install some wine version. then use the deadspace2 install script.
or use install non-listed program.

you can always try. you cannot run every windows program/game on linux. dx11 games doesnt work with wine. and there are some dx9 games that have nasty requirements that doesnt work on linux also. but many do work.
about performance i dont really know, since i dont own windows. but my wild guess is that you loose 20% in performance due the directx to opengl translations and in some cases with buggy code you can loose a lot more of performance.
