Requirements for EAC to work:
1) Windows 7 prefix  in winecfg
2) Hide Wine version in winecfg staging tab
3) Make sure esync/fsync is disabled 
4) Make sure your installation path has a set drive letter in winecfg (Specially if its on second SSD/HDD)

Any news on Battleye support and valves own VAC? I've got a feeling the number of games supported on Linux is about to skyrocket to 99%.

@@theKiwii Yeah I read that. Really bizarre that Valves own fork of wine breaks their own Anti-Cheat. Maybe they will fix it once the EAC stuff gets upstreamed to wine. Hopefully Battleye isnt too far behind either.

VAC works in regular Wine, just not in Proton, as far as I know.

There is Bottleye, but it literally just disables Battleye and can get you easily banned. Not recommended.

This doesn't modify EAC in any way afaik, it modifies wine so it's happy with the information EAC sends to it, it isn't like the battleye workaround some people was talking about.

The builds have been out in the wild for a while now, I'd say if they wanted to, they could have already stopped this. It wouldn't be hard to detect a game is running in Wine, all you have to do is check for something that should exist on Windows and deactivate if it's not there. Just doing a checksum on any number of essential Windows files would achieve that. So far it looks like EAC is just watching and waiting to see what comes of this.

shader stutter mostly, will get much better after doing more matches. theres also small perf hit because current builds dont support fsync/esync yet

Hopedully not. This eac build is not trying to bypass the checks but to implement all whats needed in wine. So it should be safe, but you never know i guess.

no idea about liquorix, but its same as linux-zen i guess? which i used few years ago. It was good, but with tkg stuff i can choose exactly what i want for my kernel as well as i need some patches for my logitech G920 anyway, so why not just build.

Holy shit this is so exiting! Stuff like this is really going to boost Linux as a more mainstream gaming OS. I know several people myself who would happily ditch Windows if they could play certain games on Linux.

yeah just read the video description.. the happiness was short lived (2-3 weeks). Its borked now again. No ETA for fix currently as the dev is working on some other stuff atm before returning to EAC work

Currently it doesnt work at all. i wrote into the description. It worked with Paladins also, yes, but atm it loads, but theres extra server side check that kicks you out from games.

Problem with all linux game is bug in nvidia, If game need more vram tehen alcoate data in ram and never go back to vram .

@@xpander69 If you have to small VRAM nvidia driver allocate part of date in RAM. RAM is slower and funy thing is bug. If is some space in VRAM data from RAM never go back to VRAM. Is som discusion about this issue with nvidia in nvidia forum but i thing nvidia never repair this bug beacous is in core driver. Amd dont have this issue. I try find this topic

really? havent spotted that issue, but then again i dont run out out VRAM ... the most VRAM usage i saw was Horizon Zero Dawn with vkd3d-proton, eating ~10GB VRAM for me @1440p
