wine 1.5.4 raw input patched

i suck at it... next step is to install DayZ mod :)
sound recording fails again. have to triplecheck my settings..something is wrong.
sound is recorded tho, but really quite..like its coming through the microphone.

without compiz that is. with compiz enabled fps goes down pretty much.. well actualy games that report fps, the numbers arent different by much when running with and without compiz, but its much more smoother without it. probably Xfce is good as well for gaming

havent tested DayZ yet. haven't had time for it. if u have decent nvidia card then ARMA2 runs quite fine..so probably DayZ will do also.

its pretty low for todays standards... 8800 would of been good enaugh probably..but 8600 is quite low. u can allways test tho..

dont know about steam version but probably it will work as well. just read the AppDB info... you need some tweaks(raw input patch for wine) before it works.

I am now posting from linux terminal - when I do that paul@ubuntu:~/Plocha/wine-build$ /home/paul/wine-git/configure --prefix="$HOME" It will show me this: > configure: error: X 32-bit development files not found. Wine will be built > without X support, which probably isn't what you want. You will need to install > 32-bit development packages of Xlib/Xfree86 at the very least. > Use the --without-x option if you really want this. Then it will do the same with FreeType development files.

Do you have benchmarks? Would this run at smooth 60, if not 30 on an i5-2500k and GTX680, 8GB 1600 RAM?

i got it installed via steam, however when i launch it, i can move my mouse but not click any menu (singleplayer, multiplayer etc)... anybody got an idea?

i have a Dual core 3,26 GhZ- CPU, Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 and 4 Gb Ram .. then i have Linux Mint 14 'Nadia' would it work and how to install ? simply install by steam ??

You have to install WINE first. Then download steam for Windows and install it. Should work fine. I have 1/8 of the horsepower you've got and I can run it with low graphics. Expect less FPS than on Windows, and none of the Viruses.

What version of WINE are you running? There was a version that fixed the input devices. I think it has to be 1.4.7 and up. I'm running 1.5.21 (unstable) Battleye is broken for me right now. Copy and paste into terminal: wine --version

Install WINE from the Ubuntu Software Center. Stick DVD in. Install. Steam? Download Steam for Windows and install. If it doesn't work, you may have to install some WINE components using winetricks. If that doesn't work or you're a Linux noob, use google. You'll find that the Ubuntu Community is TOP NOTCH. Get ready to copy and paste your way to playing Arma2/DayZ.

*ANYONE RUNNING UBUNTU* The current WINE version in Ubuntu will not let you click on things in ARMA2. Ubuntu repositories can be "modded" on the local computer to allow you to install and keep up-to-date, the latest versions of WINE. Terminal. Copy and paste verbatim: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa type password when prompted and press enter when it asks you to accept the change. Then, verbatim: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade Now you have current version of wine.

Yes. Wine version 1.5.7 I think is the version that fixed that problem.

Hi guys, I've just given it a try and it works!!!! Installed Ubuntu 12.10 32bit no updates just amd driver 13.1 from ubuntu software center, Crossover 12 trial and ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead DVD v1.51 in Windows Vista Bottle. No mouse and keyboard issues! The unique problems are some textures which become pink or green but I think codeweavers and wine community are doing a great job! my pc specs are: AMD Athlon II X64 270 8GB RAM AMD RADEON HD 5570 1 PATA drive

I bought this game (not on steam.) and it launches and the graphics and audio are great... I can move my mouse over the selections at the menu, but I can't click them.. Same with ArmA 2: free that I was testing... I can't click anything and my arrow and enter key won't work to select anything either... Help? :<

what version of wine do you have? you dont need raw input patch anymore since wine 1.5.12 also worth trying is the winecfg option for forcing mouse grab.

i dont really know(remember).. it was way way back when i played it last time. try useGLSL disabled and StrictDrawOrdering enabled registry keys perhaps

GLSL is enabled by default, you can only disable it its done via regedit command (check winehq homepage and search for "usefull registry keys")

Thanx, I already figured it out do. The game runs fine the only problem is that it has no sound and some objects in the game have no texture, they are completely white. Those object are the soldiers sunglases, some crates, some rocks and some barrels. Is I enable or disable StrictDrawOrdering nothing really happens.

oh and GLSL has to be enable, when I disable it the game didnt start and gave me an error saying "ERROR: Shader model 2 not supported anymore"

yes it works, but you can only connect to servers that doesnt have the newest battle-eye protection.

good question..i dont remember anymore..it was long time ago i recorded this. this was my first time to play the game.. so obviously i didnt even know what buttons do what. havent played it long time.. been playing some DayZ but there are several graphical issues and you cant connect to battleeye protected servers.
