yeah performance isnt great on windows either, but i should get about twice the perf i get with vkd3d. but i guess that cant be fixed for pascal. as pascal doesnt have real async compute or something is what i understand and it goes through cpu alot which is causing a bottleneck somewhere. But with Recent AMD and Nvidia cards it should be much better/closer to windows perf.

Just drop 64bit dxgi from DXVK and d3d12 from vkd3d-proton to tjhe game dir. Should work, but windows is not officially supported by those projects.

that is odd. my proton experimental has d3d12 also ~/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Proton - Experimental/dist/lib/wine/vkd3d-proton

@@xpander69 Tried all of the above and nothing changed. I don't know what is going on... People say that regular version of proton does not come with build in Dx12 support but all of the proton versions ( regular and eggroll one ) have in their dist/lib(and lib64)/wine/vkd3d-proton folder d3d12.dll file. AS well as ...../wine/dxvk folder with d3d9.dll, d3d10.dll, d3d11.dll with dxgi.dll that you mentioned before.

@@madmartigan9720 you put the dll next to the game executable.. make sure you also get dxgi.dll form DXVK, though i think GE versions already have it by default, not sure. Anyway if it crashes then its probably some stupid regression. Try copying the d3dcompiler_47.dll from tools/ShaderCompiler/PC/10.xxxx/x64 into the main folder also, where the Horizon executable is.

@@xpander69 Thanks for the reply. I've tried using experimental version and the game launches as always, just same error occurs after a minute of cutscenes. I see people saying that they got game running with eggroll proton and vkd3d. can you please tell me where to put that dx12.dll that you built if I want to use it with other versions of proton ? As the game is crashing, I wanna try all possible solutions.

just use proton experimental, it has the latest d3d12.dll, you dont need to copy anything
