I with many other have trouble communicating with the 7daystodie-server. Do you have a fix for this or did it work out of the box? There is a thread on this @ 7daystodie webpage

like mouse goes out of the game? then try winecfg and graphics tab, enable "capture mouse when fullscreen"

they had linux lined up in their kickstarter page and also said in forums that they are working on linux client.. probably we dont see that in alpha though.. but beta or release for sure
