ahh well..thats the game thingy..pda..i was confused with the buttons at the start of the video..cuz i couldnt find out which button stopped me from running :). also when i minimize or switch workspace then the games automatically go to pause menu. that might explain

i havent played Lara Croft games also...or ..wait i think i have 1 in the first playstation times at friends place... anyway i dont use gamepad ..alltho i have one..but i hate to use... keyboard and mouse ftw :P

drivers for hardware is installed by default. only closed source 3D videocard drivers have to be installed. distros ususally ship with them and telling u after installation how to install them, So u shouldnt worry about drivers. however some hardware specs might not work so well.. in that cases u need to dig in the forums to hack them to work
