How's the 970? I'm using a Radeon 7950 with open drivers and I'm thinking about getting a 970 instead. How's the drivers with nvidia? Closed source a must for performance? As difficult to maintain as AMD closed sourced?

+snabel a if you want bang out from your money then nvidia is a must today on linux... nvidia prop drivers dont have issues as amd closed ones, they are always updated to new kernel and xorg versions and dont have weird bugs like amd fglrx.. opensource nvidia drivers are pretty much crap..in that area amd is much better... just the performance of amd gpus is not there.. if a 150€ nvidia can beat a 500€ amd card then something is terribly wrong imo.
