@@solarflare2001 same exact issue here, game crashes on launch and running it like you said results in the game starting without raytracing enabled

Also, graphics are very buggy and do not look good at all running it this way.

Update: I got it working by running "wine hl2.exe -game portal_rtx" from within the game's directory, but the options menus are all devoid of text. Also, it still won't launch from steam.

i use fedora which has via the rpm fusion repos still nvidia 520.56.06 drivers which prevent me from playing this unless i use my amd 6400 XT, but the performance would be way worse than my rtx card

Sadly i dont know how to help you with fedora packaging. I guess wait for the packages to be updated or check out Nobara project, maybe thisone has the latest packages.
