I know my card is worse than yours (1070 gtx) but my fps is like 2 times lower. Only hitting around 48-50 frames on the street in 1440p and that's without any recording going on also. Is the power difference between 1070 and 1080 that large?

Just in case make sure that it's running in directx11 mode. Dx12 mode start by default and it's not as fast.

mine is 1080Ti and yeah the perf difference is pretty high, i had 1070 before also and it was strugging with 1440p with newer games, 1080p is fine. Games that use 100% of your GPU you will get same perf with 1070 at 1080 as 1080Ti would get with 1440p, thats from my observations
