wine 1.5.14

i kind a hate linux recording software:( recorder keeps falling to 15 fps. and sound recording only works with 5.1 setup, but switching to 5.1 causes high xorg load.

tested gamecaster (frontent for glc) also, but it didn't work at all.

game itself runs at fairly playbable framerate.. with small framerate drops from time to time. videos seems to not work..hitting enter on black screen gets past the into videos.

man, i havent seen a performance hit this heavy when recording? what is your framerate when you're not recording?

if i check my recorder info it starts with 22 fps and drops to 15 by the end of the video.. with lots of duplicates..something has gone terribly wrong lately..used to be a lot better... if that was a real framerate then i couldnt play this game normally and wouldnt stay on the road at all... actual framrate is well over 30 (dont know exact numbers) with few drops here and there when loading some distant trees and whatnot.

something is totally wrong with the recording software on linux..or my system (cuz i havent formated since 2006)...with recordmydesktop i got pretty good recording framerate with few skips here and there..but quality was bad and sound kept delayed...with that avconv(ffmpeg) recored frames lag (actual gameplay is smooth) but audio works...and glc doesnt want to record all for me... have to find some new recoring software i think.

nope :( there is glc.. GUI is named as gamecaster.. which sould be allmost like fraps on windows..but it doesnt want to work with all the games.. recording software is in pretty bad shape in linux imo..regular desktop recording is fine with most apps... but gaming...not really good.

Greetings, i have Ubuntu 12.04 with HD 7850, just have Diablo II and Fallout New Vegas installed. How did you upgrade wine to 1.5.14? i cannot get over version 1.4 even though i added app repository it shows 1.4 as latest :(

i think in ubuntu you install it by sudo apt-get install wine1.5

Ok now, i installed wine1.6 but WRC 3 doesn't start up still. It's not loading nor even changing resolution. Same in Colin McRae Rally 2005. I have wine gecko latest installed and winetricks. Do i need to do some tricks now? Can you explain please.

you need windows media codecs i think winetricks wmp9 or something to bypass the intro videos. if i remember correct, it was long time ago i played
