wine 1.7.6 with DEPPolicy enabled (thanks to Someone from winehq) winetricks d3dx9 vcrun2010 dxdiag xact_jun2010 devenum manually copied (google for download links) msvcr110.dll and msvcp10.dll into /.wine/drive_c/windows/system32 folder added those into overrides from winecfg DEP Policy Patch: http://pastebin.com/XyCMWanP (need to adjust for the version of wine you are trying to use) DEPPolicy enabled wine: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28788188/wine-APB-1.7.6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz (its an ARCH package but can be used with PlayOnLinux as well when you extract it and copy its contents to ~/.PlayOnLinux/wine/linux-x86/wine-APB folder for example and then pick thatone for your APB installation in PoL) launcher is bugged, have to press repair and then kill the vcredistx86.exe process to be able to start the game. Seems to run quite smooth when GLSL is disabled otherwise has some weird loading lockups. NOTE: Disable Bloom from graphics options, makes everything too bright and cartoonish! I Die a lot :D ..its been a while since i played it last time.. last time i played it i think 4 years ago when i still had dualboot. ---- Recorded with:SimpleScreenRecorder (h.264, CRF 16) Edited with: kdenlive (x264, 1080p) Intro by: by user colonelkoik, music by myself System Specs: Processor:AMD FX-8320 @ 4,0Ghz Memory:8 GB DDR3 (1600Mhz) Video Card:Asus GTX 660 Ti 2GB DirectCU II Sound Card:Realtek ALC889 Motherboard:Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 Operating System:Arch Linux 64bit Kernel: 3.11 Filesystem: ext4 Nvidia drivers: 331.20 Desktop Environment: MATE (1.6) + Compton (glx backend vsync)

Nice, guess since it's patched you can't add it to the AppDB.

im tries in every video show start game process from clicking on .exe file.  without it sometimes thinking "this is linux or not?".  And if windowed mode is on (or allowed) anybody can say - yes, it linux.

After getting this dep-enabled wine, now I passed the dep dialob, but still can't run the game getting this error: The exception handler thread has crashed,, this means that debugging information/callstack is not avaible.

+Klemik +Xpander69 I got lost trying to get this to work. When GLSL is enabled I get "Graphics card doesn't meet minimum requirements" error. When GLSL is disabled I get the "Exception handler thread crash" error. The Exception Handler crash appears to be related to the following lines from `APBGame/Logs/*.log`. ``` 05:57:47 - Log: === Critical error: === This game requires at least Shader Model 3.0 ``` This leads me to believe that with GLSL disabled, the GPU presented to the wine environment isn't supporting SM 3.0. If I enable GLSL then this bug appears to go away, but then I'm plagued by APB spitting out that my GPU doesn't meet the minimum requirements error. This may be true, but I'm highly skeptical that my GPU doesn't support APB. The following are the specs reported by system information in OSX 10.11.2 ``` Chipset Model: AMD Radeon R9 M370X ... VRAM (Total): 2048 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x6821 Revision ID: 0x0083 ``` Interestingly enough, wine provides a fake device that shows up in the steam system information when running from within wine. ### GLSL Enabled ``` Video Card: Driver: ATI Radeon X1600 Series ... DirectX Card: ATI Radeon X1600 Series VendorID: 0x1002 DeviceID: 0x71c2 ... ``` The GPU devices presented by wine with GLSL {dis|en}abled are different. ### GLSL Disabled ``` Video Card: Driver: ATI Radeon 9500 ... DirectX Card: ATI Radeon 9500 VendorID: 0x1002 DeviceID: 0x4144 ... ```

I followed your guide here. I tried with your precompiled wine version with DEP, have little success. read on appdb that 1.9.6 may not be working anymore, so I used your d3dstream-git on AUR and added the dep patch, but I seem to get the same error, I can't quite find a way to get around this: "err:winsock:interface_bind Failed to bind to interface, receiving broadcast packets will not work on socket 0114" some kind of help would be much appreciated I appreciate your videos and what you do for the linux community. Thanks.
