The native Linux client uses OpenGL which is not very good at dealing with multithreading. Even so... The native client plays good enough on my system (over 60fps @ 1440p). My hope is that Dying Light 2 will use Vulkan and then they will need to do very little to maintain a Linux version.

On AMD graphics dying light doesn't like Mesa graphics drivers, do I quickly tried this out and it runs perfect! Though I still can't wait for that project for translating opengl to vulkan comes along! So that way native Linux games can be run with even better performance.

Interesting. I was just wondering whether I should install it on Windows because the performance of the Linux version sucked. I hadn't even thought about using Steam Play. Thanks!

Now it's really complicated to stop using Steamplay because Valve they've forced this crap on us! it kills the gaming future of linux and the opportunity to improve.
In addition, this fonction not work correctly with certain independant game who work already better without Steamplay. and it doesn't encourage developers to improve the linux versions of their games. This is eally outrageous.
I don't think it's a good idea for a profit-driven company to reappropriate a free, collaborative OS and gradually take ownership of it. Don't forget that Valve whistled up the work of "PLayOnLinux" and the "Wine" to be able to create SteamPlay.

Proton enables tens of thousands of games to work on Linux. It’s great. A shame you’ll miss out on them.
