Honestly it's still on the edge of whether it's worth it or not I'm quite sure, depending on what anticheat solution your game uses it can still be likely that adding Linux support will be a net negative for whichever game decides to invest in it. That said, it makes me even more grateful for the games that do decide to support it, and I support them by voting with my wallet. But if the Linux desktop market share does keep going up over time, which I really hope will happen, support will follow sooner or later.

I encountered the same Mesa driver issue, Fedora has been too fast and loose with updates as of late. I can see myself ending up using Debian in the future, if I can figure out how to compile Mesa drivers for it.

Embark are extremely solid developers, really friendly to their community and treating their players like actual people and they're amazing at what they're doing. I wouldn't be surprised if Linux support in PvP games like Arc Raiders and The Finals was still a net negative because of the extra investment into anticheat support combined with potentially slightly weaker protection for the playerbase as a whole, but that didn't stop them from going for it anyways all the while providing products of really high quality. They're by far one of my favorite developers

I was using Bazzite which is Fedora based and although it was great for gaming the desktop was unresponsive a lot of the time. Now I'm using Cachy OS and it's way better, no system breaks so far.

I just can’t get into Arc Raiders at all. But I’m glad it works*** on the steam deck and plays relatively smoothly on low-ish settings. Ps on the Deck I just say NO when I’m asks to downgrade the graphics driver and it loads up as normal… usually

You know what would probably solve the anti-cheat thing for most Linux titles? If Gabe just talked to the studio heads in-person. A cuppa tea and a chinwag. Women already know this. We blokes say stupid things online and have pointless arguments about silly positions we've taken. But look someone in the face? Actually talk to them in real life? You'd be surprised how much it changes things.

Steam Machine will flop if they price it anything above $600.. the thing is weaker on paper then a base PS5 and Valve is going about it the wrong way saying they gona price it like a PC.. the people that most likely will buy the thing rather they coming from console or PC will NOT like a price above $600 considering its a LOW END PC
