I still think that a shortcut for volume would be nice, the same way it's for brightness (quick access button + left stick up/down) it could be quick access button + left stick left/right

Did this update also come with improvements to how shader caches are compiled? I don’t get any stutter in Apex Legends anymore :)

IIRC there is a change in regards to this - shader pre-caching is quicker(?). I do remember less stutters were mentioned relating to shaders

The game i’m playing dragon quest builders 2 is broken after this experimental update, proton 7 doesn’t run well but launches, and previously only the experimental runs well, now the game won’t launch with the wine update. Also wouldn’t launch on proton 8

@@dylan_00 For a game I need specifically the proton 7 experimental, Valve updated stable to 8 then the experimental to 8, which means the experimental has the changes I need but not in the stable proton. I just got it working by installing a local build proton 7 experimental.

You can tell it to use Proton 7 (under "Properties" > "Compatibility" > "Force the use ..." > "Proton 7.X")

After seeing how well Doom RT runs, especially if you use the FSR 2.0 mod, I can't wait until Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is supported. That's the main update I'm looking forward to. Pretty much every other game I already want to run seems to run well.

@@SakasaHigure It really depends on the implementation. The more vector data you give it, the less it will ghost. The entire point of it is that it renders something at 4K while using the same amount of power as a lower resolution and if you render it at the 4K then add it, it works as a better version of TAA.

Question because I've never understood fsr. I haven't tried it in doom but whenever I use it in other games all it does is give me a ghosting effect. Is there a reason people hype it up other than just the performance gains?

There's always been this hug with Elden ring where it seems almost every other time on startup the game will get stuck on a white screen and need to be closer and restarted to launch. Hope they fix that someday as it's my most played game on the steam deck.

I've noticed recently that Cyberpunk had an update which seemingly broke the game for multiple people. Haven't found that much about it other than my own experience and reports on protondb saying it crashes after a few minutes in which seems to be the case. It's quite odd.

I have a weird issue where a shocking number of games just crash on GNOME Wayland when using the 3 finger gesture on my trackpad to show other applications. Alt-Tab works, but the games just exit immediately with no warning. Including square enix titles like Octopath Traveler II and Persona 3 Portable.

so many of my games i once could play out of the box with Proton Experimental (for non-Steam Games) but it's like ever since a few updates ago half of my non-steam games haven't been running at all and it's been super frustrating. I've tried running in beta and also the recent updates it's just frustrating. Once they're able to work, there should be no reason for me to have to keep messing with settings when things are updated for the new proton versions. i don't want to have to keep messing around with the proton versions to get a game that worked just fine to run again 😭

All good fixes. Hope at some point they fix Resident Evil The Village not working outside the stable release. As well as I'd like to see The Division get fixed, especially because it's rated as "playable" even tho it breaks when you reboot the game
