A couple tips: 1) Sound is your best ally and biggest enemy in this game. Wear headphones, pay attention to noises and avoid making noise as much as possible. 2) either avoid, sneak around (walk/crouch walk), or put down the injured horses. They are loud and anyone in any compounds nearby will hear where you are. 3) The same goes for birds. The crows and ducks will alert anybody remotely in the are of where you are, and if people look up they can see the birds flying away from you. 4) around 7:40, when you're in dark sight, notice the boss icon (top left) was pulsing? When it is pulsing white it means the boss is in the area you're in, so you don't need anymore clues. If it is pulsing red it means you are in the boss area and there are enemy players nearby as well. 5) likewise, notice the sound that the clue was making as you approached it? that indicates there was an enemy near the clue. If you were able to see the clue it would be glowing red in this situation as well.

I've never played this so seeing a tips list as my introduction has me really intrigued and now I understand it's not a guns blazing pvpve game, it's stealth hunting type which I can imagine can get really tense competing with other players, enemies and working around the environment

If you want to learn hunt showdown fast. Follow psycho ghost on YouTube. He has 3 or 4 tip videos that have 50 fast paced tips each video. Tips that will take you years to learn. Rachta z, hornet, Fronkie, vombuz, and a couple other YouTubers are amazing to watch and learn from. This game is essentially a far cry game. If you dedicate yourself to learning from these people and playing aggressively, never afraid to make mistakes and die, you’ll realize that you are in fact the real monster in the bayou, not the Ai

Same! I'm getting a Steam Deck again just so I can play this game on the go - I'm finally playing on Ubuntu and haven't booted into Windows in weeks now thanks to this! There's still the LOD issue, no fix I've seen has fixed it for me, but frankly it's the price I'm willing to pay

Biggest down side is that your using steam deck controls on a game with people using keyboard and mouse. Some people are crazy good on that game still fun tho

Nice! For the past few years I've been on the verge of hopping off from Windows and moving to Linux. There's just so much annoying crap with Windows and the distaste towards it has been just increasing as time has went on. I've been trying out some distros from USB stick for the past week and Hunt now being playable under Linux I think I'm ready to switch. I have many SSD's (2 x 2TB Nvme and 2 x 500GB) so I'll most likely keep one Windows installation on one 500GB. But the less I have to run Windows the better.

it's always funny to watch inexperienced players try to sneak while set off every alarm the game has to offer. but thanks for the info. though gyro and trackpads would me a must for even beginning to dream of competing with mouse and keyboard players, I'm sure the smaller screen would still make it troubling for ranged shots. I generally prefer the sneaky crossbow and shotgun loadout so maybe it'll be fun to try it out. either way, hunt on the Deck sounds like a dream come true.
