The Immersion corp lawsuit is really interesting because apparently the company isn’t around nor is it a haptic company as it was in 2021. Heck, even former employees cite they’re a former haptic company than they are today. Most of their workers don’t work at Immersion corp anymore and there is only about 26 as of 2021 remaining. But even then they probably left by 2022-2023.

I would adore it if Valve could convince Amazon to let Lost Ark work on steam deck and honestly, just any of the companies using anti-cheat in general. I mean come on, the userbase you are losing is huge. Even Square Enix allow FFXIV to work on steam deck (like a dream, after the nightmare install) and XIV has one of the most convoluted launchers ever.

Oh! Btw, for anyone who sees this and has Decky; there is a new plugin to easily change game artwork for both portrait art and landscape, even the splash screen. Its absolutely incredible and something ive been waiting for since getting the deck (yes I have OCD and seeing the landscape art squished into portrait drove me insane)

1280x800 = 800p. I could see how that can be mixed up but generally the resolution is named from the second number (aka from the Vertical Resolution, 1280 is the horizontal resolution/1st number, whereas 800 is vertical/2nd). Examples; 1280x720 = 720P, 1920x1080 = 1080p, 2560x1440 = 1440p, 2560x1600 = 1600p, & 3840x2160 = 2160p (4K).

I am trying to figure out what would happen if an injunction was granted. I am shipping my Deck out to Valve today and now am worried that if it gets granted then I either won't get my Deck back or it will be very delayed and/or with haptics removed from it when it gets shipped back to me. I also wonder if haptics being removed would effect other functionality besides just the rumble features.

Really hope that Valve win the lawsuit. I feel they would have been aware of the previous lawsuits and are hopefully ready to take this head on. For such a small manned corporation they are worth an absolute insane amount, so hopefully they have some money set aside specifically for this case.

@memgen-憂鬱頭 but that's my point, if they choose not to up the price for the SteamDeck the manufacturing cost will still go up as they have to pay this company now for licensing so Valve will ultimately lose out if they settle. They may as well just go full offensive mode and take them down, but they most likely won't. I do believe they were aware of this before the public announcement of the Deck and probably is one of the contributing factors Gabe was not as happy about making the Deck so affordable. But I also don't think he knew it'd be this successful so either way they will still hit major profits over losses due to this stupid company.

I just undervolted my steam deck and gave it a slight cpu and gpu overclock which didnt make much difference till i did a memory overclock from 5600 to 6400. The extra performance is really nice after having it a year already.

I just realized the Mesa drivers are named after Black Mesa (or so it seems), from Half-Life, a game by Valve. Mesa is not made by Valve, but I'm sure that when they were considering Linux as a platform for their hardware projects, they thought the naming was a cool reference.
