@@Finger112 not a issue because of optimization updates to games. I don’t mind playing games at 480p resolution with fsr 2 performance or ultra performance and settings set to low. 30 fps is always achievable.

@@mbrein7964 I hope the next Steam Deck will offer 60 hz or 120 hz screen and make 1080p the default screen size (I think 1440p is too high for a screen such as the ROG Ally) for games (or 1200p for 16:10 games) and the default NVME should offer a 2280 sized storage option (not 2230) up to 2TBs or even 4TBs should be offered alongside much more heavy duty battery life. Frankly in my opinion, the Steam Deck should do 1080p as the default for every game out there. Right now, originally Valve thought that everyone would prefer the lowest end hardware and on the cheaper side to buy the device to keep costs down, but most gamers WANT much higher end hardware for the Steam Deck to be offered and that is what Valve has seen through their data last year from us consumers (Gabe Newell already told us this). So at this point alot of these videos coming out on this channels means to me, we need to be begging Valve for a hardware upgrade very soon, otherwise were going to be facing real problems running these games, only optimization will go so far.

@@Finger112 yes, I completely agree. The success of multiple handheld machines will also directly push hardware developers like AMD to continue to further advance their mobile chips as well. We already have seen more raw power chips out there with the Z1. So, all the success of all these machines will show that there’s consumer interest and can only continue to push Valve and other manufacturers to upgrade and improve.

This is definitely true now, the only problem is that the Steam Deck is only going to be able to play these kinds of newer games coming out for only so long (I would give this a couple more years before we start seeing serious problems getting around unless we get a hardware upgrade) because of the hardware itself for a game's low settings. At some point, Valve has to come out with an upgrade for the next Steam Deck in the future to run these games better and keep up with the AAA titles that come out. That 30 FPS is going to be a real problem in the near future for the games that are running on it now and only low-medium settings in most of these games if we don't start getting better hardware.

When I played through this game, I had a much better time with IGTI than FSR 2. With the lower performance impact of IGTI, the internal resolution was generally higher when set to dynamic, which incurred in a much better image, even though the upscaling itself was actually a little bit worse. I feel like a lot of people just default to FSR on steam deck, when a lot of the time, cheaper TAA/TAAU solutions give a lot better image quality for the same performance for the sole reason of the technique itself being cheaper.

Is it still better with XeSS than FSR? Cause when i played it FSR was so blury…on SteamOS 3.4.8 with CryoUtilities and GE-Proton was so enjoyble…happy that they are still working to make it run even better. Valve and Sony made an interesting partnership.

That motion artifacts are gnarly though. Btw, chromatic abberation costs a few FPS while you don't get anything worthwile out of it. I'd rather disable it and see if the budget then allows to increase some other settings. In any case, the game does look like great fun.

It's a cool game but £49.99 is just too much to ask for an 11 to 15 hour experience. I won't even start thinking of buying before the price has dropped by 50%

Great gameplay terrible story.

It was running great for me even before the update. I say it’s definitely great ! 30fps with mixed LOW and MEDIUM settings is what I suggest.

Even considering the lowering the details it's still a rather impressive to see a PS5 flagship title running on mobile linux device as well as it does.

There is few reviews because 60 dollars for a 2 year old game that can be found for 10 dollars in many games stores is a crime. If the game was 30 dollars I'd bought it at launch.
