About the game

Bravest Burden is a cooperative, online multiplayer RPG where you must protect the last living light. In order to survive this brutal world, you will need to support, protect & save each other on your journey to help the light find it's final refuge. Can you survive the eternal night?

Protect the Light

Many creatures in this world will want what you have - or seek to destroy it.
The Light is mystically tied to one player at any time, and wounded whenever that player is. When the Light is hurt it reduces in power, can become stressed or scared, and will ultimately put your group in yet more peril.
The Light will not always be helpful. You cannot hide in its glare, and many eyes will be watching you from the shadows. Trust no one.

Nobody Left Behind

Travel between safe-zones as a tightly-knit group of adventurers and survivalists, or see what happens when you do not. The darkness is blinding and cloaks all manner of dangers which only the most perceptive among you will see coming. Change who is responsible for the Light - strategize or bicker over who should bare its burden and why.

Character Growth

Create your character from five available classes:
Brute, Ranger, Druid, Priest and Thief.
Bring a unique flavour to each of your groups expeditions, completing personal quests in order to improve, change or aid your character. Gain access to a wide variety of complex traits over time which will help you gather information, negotiate, solve puzzles or otherwise leave an impact on the world. The Spirit you will need to use these aspects of your character is in scarce supply - use it wisely.

A Beautiful, Brutal World

Explore a colourful, diverse world filled with a huge variety of areas. The lush Thilliath Forest, the wastes of the fallen Rosemarble Empire, and the frozen tundra of the Korvathi Mountains are just a few of the challenging biomes that you will have to expedition through, with equally varied inhabitants to encounter.

Combat

This is not a world for the faint of heart. Tinker with your weapon of choice to evolve your varying combo move-sets and powers. You will need to learn how to perform the fluid, fast-paced combat and time the patterns of your actions.
Spells and magic in Bravest Burden are designed to require more input from the player with more feedback from the world which includes completing rituals, speaking with the gods, channelling nature, and other sophisticated approaches to spellcasting.

Strategize

Not all in this world can be so easily felled by the swing of an axe, others may require creative solutions.
When your party is surrounded by the gibbering hordes of night, you will surely hope your companions are willing to stand back to back against whatever swarm has taken your scent. Will one amongst you have the ingenuity needed to save the group?

Loot, Treasure and Spoils!

It would not sit right with us as game developers if a cave rat wasn't able to drop a Legendary Battle-axe upon its untimely demise.
You will need to find, earn, upgrade or modify your gear, weapons and abilities to suit your playstyle, fend off greater foes and be able to compliment any group you are travelling with.
