Hello Night Drivers!

I'm coming to you with the monthly game update. The previous month was mainly focused on marketing the game, updating the Steam page, creating the game trailer, and generally everything around the game itself. This month, I fully dedicated my time to cars and improving the shop.

Major changes list:

Added 4 new cars
Added over 20 car skins
Increased the number of visible stats in the shop
Added settings in the shop
First attempt at setting up the game economy (MB has been reduced from 5-10-25-50 to 5-7-10-15. Skin and car prices are more adequate to the progression. I probably went too far in the other direction, and now everything might take too long to achieve, but more insights will come during testing)
Balanced stats between cars
All cars now have perks

Minor changes list:

Button sounds in the shop
When confirming skins and details, the button will inform about the selection being confirmed
Fixed visual glitches in cars in the shop
New perk icons
Added sound when the car flies in the air and lands
Usernames can now have just 1 letter (previously, it was a minimum of 3)
License plate selection got a new background and a subtle animation
New vending machine look
New can design
3 new music tracks
Adjustments to the center of gravity for some cars

I encourage you to download the Demo and check out the changes! Next month will be entirely dedicated to the main game mode. I will address issues such as:

New map variants
New assets on the maps
Improved car smoothness when landing
General bug fixes and collider improvements in the main game mode.

Arcade Synthwave Racing Game

General Concept

This isn’t a classic racing game. Midnight Racer aims to capture the spirit of old arcade games with a modern twist. You don’t compete with other players in real-time here. The main goal of the game is to put you in a trance-like state, allowing you to kill time and stop thinking about anything, no matter your mood.

To enhance your gaming experience, the game allows you to turn off the music while keeping the other sounds. This way, you’re encouraged to play your own music in the background. This game is best enjoyed with your favorite songs.

The game allows you to drive very fast cars, which will require significant skill to stay on track, as well as slower ones designed for a more relaxed experience.
To further support your choice of play style, Midnight Racer features a chill mode where there’s no time or score pressure. The tracks in this mode are also much easier.

Features

Drift! Become a drift master. To stay on track and achieve higher scores, drift your way to victory!

Time-Limited Gameplay with Time Extensions: Play within a set time limit, with opportunities to extend your playtime.

Synthwave Atmosphere: The entire game is crafted in a psychedelic synthwave/vaporwave style. Immerse yourself in the 80s vibe with a modern twist.

Shop: Purchase new cars. Each car has its own unique perks and different stats.

Quest System Tailored to Your Playstyle: You can choose the length of the quests you want to undertake, ensuring they fit your preferred style of play.

Achievement System: Your progress in the game is tracked, with every success rewarded with special prizes such as new skins, colors, or even cars!

Leaderboard: If you enjoy competition, there are 10 Ghost Riders for you to defeat, allowing you to earn better titles and their license plates.

Chillout Mode: Depending on your mood and preferred gameplay pace, you can opt for a game mode that slows things down, allowing you to relax with less demanding gameplay.

My Chillout Zone: Turn off the in-game music while keeping the sound effects, play your own music, and experience the game on your own terms.
