Our protagonist (you name him) is kicked out of his apartment after the toxic relationship with his ex ends terribly.  Desperate and alone, he moves into a shady apartment with an even shadier landlord. 

The landlord is menacing our protagonist, but fortunately his handsome neighbor steps in to help deal with the creep. Our protagonist is grateful and awestruck.

He notices that all the previous tenant's belongings have been left behind, and he has to wonder what happened to him. Discovering a journal with dire warnings only increases his concerns. 

Weird things keep happening.  Our protagonist thinks his house is haunted…and solving the mystery of what happened to the previous tenant appears to be the key to everything.  

His neighbor is nothing but kind and supportive.  They click, and once our protagonist recovers from his ex, feelings start to blossom between them.  But then he begins to hear bizarre noises from his apartment next door?

Can our protagonist figure out the truth before he gets in too deep?  And who should he be more fearful of? His scummy landlord…or his mysterious and sexy neighbor?
