Release date announced!

Hello again!

We have the best news this week: Waifu Collector's release date has been announced! We'll be releasing the game at the end of the month, on September 30th (or October 1st, depending on where you live). Hooray!

The game will be priced at USD$3.99 with a 15% launch discount, and using Valve's recommended pricing for other currencies in most cases. The soundtrack DLC will be USD$0.99, and there will be a "Waifu Collector - Soundtrack Edition" bundle featuring the game and soundtrack together at a reduced price. It's the first time we've released on Steam, but we think we have it set up so everything should be available at the same time. :)

We'll soon add a little more in-depth information on the game in the form of "sticky" posts in the Waifu Collector Steam discussion forums. We want to do this for two reasons. First, to support people who buy the game and have any questions while they're playing, or just want to learn more about how it works. And second, to try to dissuade people who might not like some of the design decisions or game systems from buying the game. We'd love it if everyone who has added Waifu Collector to their wishlist actually ends up buying and loving it, but we're realistic enough to know that some of the decisions we've made won't be for everybody. So we want to be transparent about how it works.

We've managed to work around most of the issues we saw with card drops and have added in some in-game functionality to allow the player to specify a redrop attempt in some situations. Don't use this too often, though, as the goddesses don't like you questioning their authority! Our last few days of tests have been 100% with requested drops happening properly, so we're confident that you won't need to hassle the goddesses very often; we hope not at all.

We also finished off the extra waifu we mentioned last week and added her to the current Steam build, and then started work on another. We're not sure if the latest one will be finished in time for inclusion in the release version, but we'll try!

Okay, that's enough from us for now. We'll get back to designing waifus and fixing up any more little niggles we can find before release! We'll post again next week if we have any news to share, otherwise we'll see you at the end of the month! :)

If you've contacted us regarding a review key then don't worry; over the next few days we'll take a look through the requests we've received and send out keys to any review groups or curators that we think are suitable. We'll be taking another look through the Curator Connect programme soon, too, and sending out a few more to any curators who jump out at us there.

Thank you again for your interest in Waifu Collector! :)
