About the game

CTRL Phreak is a game that has you furiously typing the way "hackers" do in movies. It doesn't matter what you type, as long as you're typing it like Hugh Jackman in Swordfish. You might find yourself shouting things like "The encryption's firewall is blocking my framework from gaining root access!" or muttering "I'm in" under your breath.

Your keyboard mashing is responsible for most of the hacking you do in the game -- decrypting files, shielding your location, and avoiding LOCKOUT. You'll need to constantly switch between terminals, prioritizing the most imminent danger. When you're in a tight spot, you can make use of your limited "bypass" resource to regain access and avert total disaster.

Between levels, you'll collect Keywords and Frameworks that can supercharge your code with massive wombo combos. Strategically construct a synergistic collection over the course of a run, then execute your strategies in real time under the pressure of a ticking clock!

Breach a variety of procedurally generated "encrypted files." No two file-breaches are the same, requiring you to strategize on the move depending on a given file's security measures.

Navigate through a web of encrypted files to ultimately gain root access. You'll choose which files' defenses your arsenal is best suited for. Finally, access the Master Nuclear Retargeting program to avert total annihilation and win the game! Or, nuke the whole world. We'll still count it as a win.
