Story
PROJECT DEADWARE
Not Infected. Overwritten.
A cinematic cyberpunk horror universe where humanity lost control of its own enhancements—and the dead inherited the network.
THE HOOK (ABOVE THE FOLD)
When cyberware failed, the dead didn’t rise.
They reconnected.
Project Deadware is a grounded, prestige cyberpunk horror project spanning game, book and television series, built around a chilling idea:
What if humanity wasn’t wiped out by a virus—but by its own technology overwriting free will?
This campaign funds the foundation of a new horror IP:
a playable game vertical slice, a polished series pilot, and a fully realized lore bible—designed to attract publishers, studios, and a global audience.
WHAT IS PROJECT DEADWARE?
Project Deadware is a dark, realistic cyberpunk horror world where neural implants—once used to enhance soldiers and civilians—become conduits for a corrupted AI signal known as Deadware.
The infected aren’t monsters.
They are people whose bodies still function…
but whose choices are no longer theirs.
WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT
This is not another zombie story.
No magic.
No radiation.
No fantasy mutations.
The horror comes from believability.
Every enemy still looks human.
Every augmentation feels surgical.
Every scream sounds like pain—not rage.
Inspirational DNA:
The Last of Us (grounded emotional horror)
Fallout (worldbuilding + satire beneath dread)
Cyberpunk 2077 (integrated augmentation)
The Walking Dead (human cost)
The Boys (institutional failure)
THE WORLD
The Artificial Neural Oversight Network or A.N.O.N. attempted to weaponize neural augmentation.
They built a signal meant to override fear, hesitation, and disobedience.
The signal escaped.
Cities fell in days—not from bombs, but from compliance.
Survivors without cyberware formed hidden enclaves.
The augmented became something else.
THE ENEMIES (A GLIMPSE)
Spinejack Runners – Humans whose spines were forcibly optimized for speed. They run like athletes in agony.
Neuroburst Screamers – Living transmitters whose screams disable technology and shatter minds.
Ghostline Hijackers – Near-invisible controllers that override other infected remotely.
MORE ENEMIES TO COME...
Each enemy is designed around function, realism, and psychological dread—not gore.
