Story
Synopsis: In Snapdragon, you play as the "Mantlebearer", a young man who was the younger brother of the Chosen One, who was supposed to save the world of Orumi from an insidious group's machinations to resurrect their god.
The only issue is that this Chosen One has been dead for over a decade, and now that the people prophesying him have arrived, The Mantlebearer took on his identity to go forth under his guise, to learn about the truth behind the tragedy, and to maybe change the fate of the world himself. Working with Workshop Irminsul and meeting a special group of people called the "Emissaries" that'll accompany him onto the phenomena of this world, that of floating living islands called "Geolare", perhaps altering the course of fate is still possible, even if he's not the prophesied hero. As a game, Snapdragon is about what it means to be chosen for a purpose and venerated, all the while the person at the center is eroded away, only seen as a vessel for the prophecy.
Platforms: Steam + Itch.io
Release: I'm hoping to release the game sometime in September or October of 2026.
Price: I'm hoping to release Snapdragon for around 4.99 USD.

Stretch Goals
For stretch goals, I would like to add that even if they aren't met, I will do my utmost to implement them eventually if they remain feasible.
Setting and Characters
You'll come across a variety of characters in the game, the one you follow being the "Mantlebearer". Take a look below!
Most, if not all, spritework is done by my good friend Multi (lucasyoung988)
The world of Orumi is similar to our own, but with its own cultures, cosmology, and technology. Taking place around 2006. The Mantlebearer and Eun-ji live in the Haengu Isles, a somewhat mountainous set of islands full of small towns, with the capital being Dosisan.
Dosisan is a pretty nice place to live, if you ignore all the weird phenomena. Rumors say that alot of Mimin are found here . . .
Workshop Irminsul is stationed on a Geolare itself. Host to quite a few colorful characters.
I said colorful, not exactly likable.
The first Geolare the Mantlebearer arrives at is Gramtile. It's a "temporally confusing" one, but at least it's pretty.
Gameplay
Gameplay in Snapdragon has you using skills that fall under the Light, Medium, or Heavy categories. The categories have their own minigames, the characters have their own unique niche and mechanics, and the battle system has quite a few intricacies once you figure them out!
Light skills require a clock-based minigame, with one or two clockhands to land in the highlighted area.
Medium skills require you to hit the right key in time when it's in the target.
Heavy skills require you to mash and build up a meter to deal maximum damage.
The Gameplay loop of Snapdragon is exploring a set of diverse islands to uncover their secrets, each island beholden to a unique gimmick, unique wildlife, and weather systems. In the downtime between islands, you can choose to engage and interact with members of the workshop to complete tasks for them in exchange for unique items, helpful items, and powerful items to help further in various expeditions!
But be warned. You will need all the help you can get. The wildlife on the islands . . . is quite a bit more feisty compared to the ones down below on Terra Firma. Unique behaviors can be elicited by doing certain actions or using certain skill types.
A puzzle-based RPG, that's all about finding patterns. May you find the pattern that will save the world.
About Me
My name is, as mentioned before, CuriyanDev. I'm the main programmer, coder, writer, and overall developer of Snapdragon. I've been working in conjunction with my good friend Multi (the main sprite artist) and Potriel (for the soundtrack) to bring this game to life, having started the very first iteration of Snapdragon in 2023, before settling on what it is now in late 2024. Snapdragon and its characters have grown near and dear to me over that period, and I hope to share their stories and journeys with you all!
Thank you in advance for considering the project.
