Story
LEARING CENTER: THE PAPER TRAIL PANIC
A Physical Game Boy Color Satire from Guardian Games Studio
Welcome to Learing Center: The Paper Trail Panic, a fast-paced, over-the-top, retro parody game for the Game Boy Color, inspired by classic Paperboy-style gameplay and modern-day bureaucratic absurdity.
This is a physical cartridge–only release, complete with a printed manual, manufactured to the same quality standards Guardian Games Studio has delivered time and time again.
📄 WHAT IS THIS GAME?
In Learing Center: The Paper Trail Panic, you play as a fictional “paper runner” operating in a satirical Minnesota Fraud Ring. Your job is simple:
- Go door-to-door
- Collect stacks of questionable paperwork
- Hand out incentives to anyone willing to sign
- Avoid getting caught by YouTubers, FBI Agents and New Reporters!
- Get back to the Learing Center before everything blows up
Sounds easy? It’s not.
Because the streets are crawling with trouble.
🚨 ENEMIES & OBSTACLES
As you sprint, dodge, and weave through each neighborhood, you’ll need to avoid:
🐖 Angry pigs
🐕 Vicious dogs
📹 Relentless YouTubers
🎤 News reporters
🕵️ FBI agents
Oh and the potholes of the dilapidated Minnesota roads!
One hit and it’s game over. You only have three chances before you have to call your wife and/or sister to bail you out of jail.
Each level requires you to visit 10 houses, collect all required paperwork, then race back to the Learing Center without getting caught, bitten, exposed, or investigated.
🕹️ GAMEPLAY
- Classic Paperboy-inspired mechanics
- Tight, responsive controls
- Increasing difficulty with each level
- Faster enemy AI
- More obstacles
- Less margin for error
This isn’t a score-chasing arcade game.
It’s a speedrun game.
Your goal is to complete all levels as fast as possible. The game saves your best completion time directly to the cartridge, letting you replay again and again to shave seconds off your run.
Quick to learn. Hard to master. Perfect for pick-up-and-play sessions.

📦 PHYSICAL RELEASE DETAILS
This is a short-run, physical-only release.
There is no boxed version at launch—unless we hit our stretch goal!
🎯 STRETCH GOALS
250 sold copies and we will add a top down Boat Pirate Game with 10 Levels.
500 copies sold and we will create a custom box for the game for all physical backers at no additional charge.
If we hit 1,000 copies our team will create a racing game where you drive through the dilapidated roads of Minnesota, to the Governors house where you'll be able to yell insults for his lack of oversight.
If we don’t hit 500 units, the game will remain cart + manual only and digital copy only.
This is due to manufacturing volume requirements and keeping the project lean and fast.
This game is pure satire.
It pokes fun at:
- Bureaucracy
- Modern scandals
- Everyone involved in them
No real people, organizations, or groups are depicted directly. Everything is exaggerated, fictionalized, and played for laughs.
🏆 WHY THIS GAME?
Because sometimes the best way to remember a moment in history…
…is to laugh at it on a Game Boy Color cartridge.
Learing Center: The Paper Trail Panic is meant to be:
- Funny
- Fast
- Replayable
- A conversation piece on your shelf
- A snapshot of a moment in time
❤️ FINAL NOTE
This is a passion project, a parody, and a love letter to classic handheld gaming. You should expect the same quality, care, and craftsmanship Guardian Games Studio is known for.
We hope you laugh.
We hope you speedrun it.
And we hope it earns a spot in your retro collection.
Thanks for backing—and don’t forget to run fast.
