Story
The Story Behind Avenue Age,
City-building games used to trust the player.
They weren’t about clicking endlessly or chasing arbitrary meters. They were about planning, people, and consequences. Roads mattered. Services mattered. Where you built something mattered — and if you ignored your workforce or your infrastructure, your city felt it.
Over time, that style quietly faded.
Avenue Age exists because I wanted to bring it back.
A Modern City, Built on Classic Principles
Avenue Age is a modern city builder inspired by the systemic depth of classics like Caesar III, reimagined in a contemporary setting. Instead of overwhelming the player with noise or micromanagement, the game focuses on a few powerful ideas:
Cities grow because people live and work there
Services don’t magically function — they need staff
Coverage, proximity, and planning matter more than raw building count
Bigger buildings require deliberate space and intent
Growth should feel earned, not automatic
Every system in Avenue Age is designed to deliver clear cause and effect. When something works, you know why. When it doesn’t, the solution is visible — not buried behind menus.
What You’re Playing Is Real
Avenue Age didn’t start as a pitch deck or a concept mockup. It started as a working prototype.
Today, the game already includes:
A fully functional isometric city grid
Road networks with real vehicle traffic
Population and workforce systems
Tiered housing that upgrades based on services and access
Water, education, parks, and community buildings
Distribution centers with strategic operating modes
A clean, readable interface built for clarity
This Kickstarter isn’t funding an idea — it’s funding the time needed to turn a solid foundation into a finished game.
Why Kickstarter?
Building a systems-driven city builder takes focus.
Kickstarter allows me to work on Avenue Age full-time, polish what already exists, and expand the game responsibly without compromising its design. Rather than rushing features or overpromising scope, the goal is steady, transparent development with regular updates and player feedback shaping the future.
I believe the best city builders are built with their communities — not behind closed doors.
Where the Game Is Going
With your support, development will focus on:
A complete economy loop with monthly income and expenses
Goods flow and logistics
Expanded services and safety systems
Advanced housing tiers and city desirability
Performance, balance, and long-term polish
A Steam Early Access release with an active roadmap
The vision is not endless sprawl — it’s meaningful growth.
Thank You
If you miss city builders that respect planning over spectacle, if you enjoy systems that reward foresight, and if you want to help shape a modern take on a classic genre — thank you for being here.
Avenue Age is being built carefully, deliberately, and with intention. Your support helps make that possible.
