Escape 2049 is a new action puzzle platformer game made for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive with ports planned for Gameboy Advance & Steam.
It is the sequel of Escape 2042, originally released in 2016 for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive & Gameboy.

Story:
In the year 2042, following a clandestine operation to expose the corrupt government's activities, a hacker named Shun, a member of the Truth Defenders Coalition, was imprisoned in Bulor 24 Prison!
Despite his escape, Shun was deeply affected by the experience and decided to give up, withdrawing from society.
Seven years later, his partner Elena took up the fight again, more determined than ever to avenge what her husband had suffered.
Despite her extreme caution, the government had acquired AI-powered surveillance tools, she was discovered and imprisoned in a highly secured prison!

Game overview:
The game takes place in four different environments (prison, asteroid, desert, forest). Shoot enemies from all directions, collect access cards to open secure doors, use red round grenades to destroy walls blocking passage, and blue rectangle grenades to temporarily disable security cameras. Test your memory by hacking the prison computers to disable the laser barriers.

4 Game Modes available:

• Child: Near-invincible game mode, ennemies life halved, no need to succeed in the computer hacking phase.
• Easy: Easier game mode with 9 lives, ennemies life halved, no time limit in the computer hacking phase.
• Normal: Classic game mode with 5 lives.
• Hardcore: Harder game mode with 3 lives and ennemies life doubled.

The game is fully playable on the Sega Genesis / Megadrive, the Kickstarter is here to finance the physical production of the game on cartridge with box and manual, it will also finance the Steam port (for Windows & Linux) and the Gameboy Advance port & physical production.

Escape 2049 is the sequel to Escape 2042, which was released in 2016. You can order a special deluxe re-edition of Escape 2042 for the Sega Genesis / Megadrive, the original Gameboy and the Gameboy Advance, together with your copy of Escape 2049.

Escape 2042 is an original futuristic fast-paced platformer game taking place in three different environments is interspersed with 2 mini-games, including a reversed "Shoot'em Up" and an original rappelling game!
