Limited Time Tempo Achievement Changes
(RIGHT NOW)
In our last update on April 29th 2024 we did an update to the game that introduced many elements the most noteworthy being;
- 1 New world "Spirit Crossing"
- 5 New Levels (each with their own custom soundtrack)
- New home screen UI to improve user experience and tracking high-scores
- Character Customization and Unlocking
- 35 Carefully designed and custom art'd Achievements
We realize that some of our achievements were asking a lot from players (like having players run over 1 million tiles). While this is very reasonable to achieve on a casual or hardcore schedule, we'd like to offer the community a limited-time December 2024 gift by making several achievements
GREATLY reduced asks. This is in honor of our players who have been playing and apart of the community since 2021. During this time, achievements have a much lower threshold to achieve (ex. instead of 1-million tiles the number is 1000). In January 2025 these thresholds will return to normal (1-million tiles achievement will once again require 1-million tiles total).
Upcoming Score Resets
We feel it would be best to provide new opportunities for players to shine. While we mostly abstained from resetting or removing genuinely achieved scores, we always want to support you (our community). With the latest achievements and home-screen updates, we want players to feel invited to challenge themselves and improve so we'll be wiping the scores for every level in January 2025.
As a team, we're still discussing how often we should reset scores, but at a minimum, we have resolutely agreed upon once a year, and this coming year 2025 will be our first wipe since releasing the game!
What Aestroanuts Is Working On In The Meantime
Since we began in 2021, we have developed and built nearly a hundred different prototypes and ideas. As a team, we're always focused on growing our skills and putting interesting qualities above "success" or quantity.
That being said, we do want to deliver an experience that is loved and playable and helps support us financially to create more. While it's not yet clearly defined exactly what that looks like, we are happily making progress on a new project that is anticipated to do the following;
- test the player's intellect and logic skills
- have visuals and audio that's interesting
- support learning and mastery
- allow players to create and share custom content

These are not far off from the goals we had for Tempo, but we've learned quite a bit since then and we feel closer than ever to achieving these. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who has been with us along the way, You Rock!
