New Features :
- Modding : added the TE4 ads logo on the top right of the main menu even when the game menus are modded
Bug Fixes :
- World Tour : fixed a couple of rare bugs & crashes (found while working on TEM2/TE4 steammocking )
Notes :
- You'll find TE4 in Early Access here : https://store.steampowered.com/app/760640 & its roadmap there : https://www.managames.com/Forum/topic15-33253.php
Tennis Elbow 4, the long-awaited sequel to Tennis Elbow 2013, will be released in Early Access on Steam on June 4th.
It has been already available from managames.com for almost 2 years now, and the game is already more complete than TE2013, except its Modding support is still limited.
TE4 current main improvements are :
- Improved visuals, including new players, 9 stadiums and 9 more coming
- Reworked physics so everything is more realistic ; as the main example : now if you hit a ball when mispositioned and/or too late, it'll always have a chance to end in the net or go wild
- Redesigned menus
- Dynamic animation so the players always put their racket on the ball (it still needs tuning to look ok in all situations)
- Men Tour starts in 1973 & Women Tour in 1983
- Junior Tour
- Future fictional years are generated in real-time, so each playthrough sees different top players in the future
- Olympiads
The future main area of improvements will be the animations, but it'll have also new content : mainly new stadiums & a single tournament mode.
I hope you'll enjoy all this and if you have any feedback, you're welcome here : https://steamcommunity.com/app/760640/discussions/ ; and there : https://www.managames.com/Forum/ .

I just added a little TE4 button on the top right of the main menu to let TE2013 players aware the sequel will come soon... :-) You'll find it here : https://store.steampowered.com/app/760640/Tennis_Elbow_4/ It's coming in Early Access on June 4th. Note : the button doesn't weigh 25MB ; it's just the Steam delta-update that kinda failed... steammocking
After a few months in Beta, the game has finally reached the state where it deserves the v1.0 label ! steamhappy
There's no common big bad bug anymore (although it may still have a few rare ones, so be sure to report them if you meet them), and all base features are there now with the Steam achievements and the completed documentation.
In the incoming months I will still add small user-requested features, and in the years to come I'll try to regularly add bigger features or do some noticeable rehauls from your feedback.
For now, I'll let the game in the Early Access state as it might still need a series of polishing, and to encourage new users to give feedback & feature requests..! :-)
TEM2 is finally playable on Steam, in Early Access for a couple of months. The main improvements over TEM1 are the new menu design, the Junior Tour and the 3D matches, watchable or playable, with better physics & AI than TE2013..! Here a couple of games from a CPU vs CPU match on clay : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Utt0RNZTPQo&t=104s And you can check the game more here : https://store.steampowered.com/app/760630
Tennis Elbow Manager 2 Beta
After 8 months in Early version on managames.com, Tennis Elbow Manager 2 Beta is released ! (still on Mana Games' website, it'll come in a while on Steam)
The state of the game is changed to Beta because now all the important new features are implemented in the game. However it still misses some polish and some secondary features that may come later on. I'll keep fixing the bugs reported during the next few months while I'll be busy porting the game to the Unity engine. The version 1.0 will come shortly after it's done. The main new features added since the release of the Early version are the 3D matches, with real-time coaching, and the possibility to play yourself the 3D matches both in the World Tour and in the newly added Training Club free mode. The TEM2 3D matches let you test the new ball, court, strike & player physics of TE4, as it's all implemented in TEM2 ! Players physics may change a bit, but the rest is very close to the final results, except for tuning, of course. The AI is also greatly improved, but more will be done, especially as only the Pro-10 difficulty has been tuned, and not for the gameplay but for the realism. So the gameplay of TE4 will be more refined and less raw than what you can find in TEM2, but be careful though : after a couple of hours of play, you may have some trouble to come back to the old TE2013..! ;-) And if you had missed the previous newsletter, here the main new features since TEM1 :
- Men Tour starts in 1973 & Women Tour in 1983
- Fictional years are generated in real-time, so each playthrough sees different top players in the future
- Junior players, management and training
- New menu design
- Olympics
- Better injury handling (eg: can go on playing with the risk to get more injured)
- Training Schedule (can save a training schedule & reapply it)
- Windows 7/8/10 : https://www.managames.com/predownload_en.php?f=TennisManager_nle47.exe
- macOS 10.7+ : https://www.managames.com/predownload_en.php?f=TEM-Mac_nle47.pkg

Hello, version 1.0j has just been released. This version allows the engine to render faster than 60 images per second, up to 144 fps ; this means if your monitor supports a refresh rate higher than 60hz, the game will look a lot more smooth. Also, depending of your setup, the game may also look smoother at 60hz, especially as the time polling got a couple of fixes. Changelog since release of the game on Steam can be read here : http://steamcommunity.com/app/346470/discussions/0/618456760265331075/ . Enjoy ! ːsteamhappyː

Hello, I just upgraded the 3D Engine of Tennis Elbow 2013 from DirectX 8 to DirectX 9, which should prevent compatibility issues with GPU Drivers partially dropping DX8 support (especially on Windows 10) ; this should help people who have stuttering while playing. Note: there's no visual change, it's only a compatibility update. Also, the following feature has been added : Fullscreen Window mode ; this allows instant Alt+tab, and avoid crashes when changing FSAA and some other video settings unlike the exclusive fullscreen mode. Changelog since release of the game on Steam can be read here : http://steamcommunity.com/app/346470/discussions/0/618456760265331075/ .

Hello, I have updated the Mac OSX version last month and now it seems to be finally alright, especially as I fixed a nasty rendering bug which had appeared on the new OSX El Capitan ! I also updated the Linux version this week and it seems to run fine on Ubuntu 12.04, but for Ubuntu 14.04 there's still some doubts if it works in all situations or not. Don't hesitate to report your experience in the forum of the game => http://steamcommunity.com/app/346470/discussions/ .

New Features :
- Display : you can disable the rendering of the Danger Zone by changing this line in your Tennis.ini (or your Profile's .ini if you have created one) under [Game], from : "HideDangerZone = 0" to "HideDangerZone = 1" ; this allows to see the Aiming Preview without the Danger Zone
Changes :
- Video Options : turning off the 3D Courts doesn't change nor hide the Level of Details option anymore, which allows to more easily turn off the line judges when playing with a custom 2D court
- Online : F12 Key works for Quick Chat
Bug Fixes :
- World Tour : Master Cup doubles ranking points could be wrongly calculated when looking a past year
- World Tour : Race Doubles rankings were wrong on the 1st weeks of a new year
- CRC : player's CRC could be inconsistently calculated in Fair & Realistic Skill Modes, between the 1st match and a rematch (Free Mode wasn't affected)
- AI : CPU players in Doubles playing in Fair & Realistic Skill Modes could get a bit too strong
- .dmo : replaying a .dmo from recorded online matches was desyncing too often when a player was using the safe shot and/or preparing a strike too late
- .dmo : replaying a .dmo from a recorded online matches with a very high delay could desync when a player was serving without waiting

Hello, if you have purchased TE2013, you should now have access to the Mac & Linux versions on Steam! The game should not yet be shown in the store as available for Mac & Linux though, as I'm still not sure if they're working well enough or not. So if you already own the game and have Mac or Linux, thanks to try them out and let me know if they're ok or not. There are 3 issues to check for Linux : - Config doesn't work ; it's a bash file & Steam seems to refuses to launch it ; it's still possible to manually launch it from the game folder if the needs arise - the game may not launch at all, because it'd miss libsteam_api.so ; I put this file in the SdlLib folder and it seems to be ok, though - the net may be wrongly displayed : left part of the upper band was not visible in my 1st tries ; I think it's because I'm using Linux inside a virtual machine, because after a while it worked correctly again I didn't notice any issue with the Mac version ; hopefully, reports will come to confirm that.
Hello, I'm watching closely the ELO system, and the average ELO score of active players is raising all the time. This is because new players come, lose ELO points to current players, then give up and never come back. As the goal of the ELO is to help you find people of your level, and not to get the biggest score possible, I just lowered the ELO score of all players who have more than 1000 points, according to this scale :
- -15% if you have 1500 ELO
- -21% if you have 2000 ELO
- -26% if you have 2500 ELO
- -30% if you have 3000 ELO
- -33% if you have 3500 ELO
- Modding achievement is now also granted when starting a match, in case you didn't get it on game launch - Season stat count has been fixed and the corresponding achievements will be reset on your 1st game launch
