Crab Game Holidays Update
[h3]hey its me again[/h3]
i think this is the 4th update but i kinda lost count. anyway we have christmas stuff now, new crates, new maps and modes & more.

[h3]Christmas Update[/h3]

• New Christmas Box (13 new items)
  
• A free surprise by opening the game
  
• A lot of maps are now winter-themed. Snowballs can be found on many maps.

• - Standoff [Removed Standoff since literally nobody likes the gamemode (including me)]

• A lot of people have complained about their inventories filled with Jeff Hair.
  
• You can now recycle items, and turn them into rags.
  
• Go to your inventory -> Click an Item -> Recycle
  
• Be VERY CAREFUL when you recycle items, as you can NOT get recycled items back.
  
• With enough rags, you can craft a random crate.
  

• Seekers are frozen for the first 5 seconds of a round, giving the hiders time to hide.
  
• Tried to fix some stutter issues, but not sure if it worked lol
  
• Fixed an issue where you would hit a person but it didn't register
  
• You can now set your Input Latency in the Game Settings. Setting this value lower will make your mouse movement more repsonsive, but decrease FPS. Setting it higher will have the opposite effect.
  
• Can open your inventory in-game, and open crates in-game (Sometimes when you open a crate in game it will now show the crate opening, and just freeze. But the item will appear in your inventory if you check there).
  
• Can change your outfit in game, but only when you are in the waiting room.
  

• Added a few more quests, based on suggestions from LePawel & the community :)
  
• Server sends a chat message if someone unboxed something cool
  
• Can now type in freecam without moving the camera
  

Double Crate drop weekend

Drop rate -> increased
Max daily crates -> doubled

Crab Game Cosmetics Update 2

So I said in the last update I would be working on cosmetics, since a lot of people requested it. It was a lot more time consuming to make than I thought, but I've finished up 50+ items with Steam Inventory support, and everything else. Hope you like it!
Also a question for everyone. Currently you cannot buy crates, is this something you wanna see changed? Why? Why not? Are there any other changes in general you'd like to see? Thanks for the feedback!

[h3]Earning Cosmetics[/h3]

• Crates are completely free to open.
  
• When a game finished, there is a chance to receive a crate drop.
  
• Being toxic / reported / banned / kicked / hacking will lead to less drops. Not affected if you're just banned or kicked by a bad / salty host.
  
• There is a limit to how many crates you can get every day.
  
• Crates can be opened by entering your Inventory, found in the Main Menu.
  
• Crates can also be earned by completing daily quests.
  

• You can open your crates from the in-game inventory.
  
• There are currently 4 main categories of items you can receieve: Hair, Hats, Accessories & Shoes.
  
• There are 50+ items in total, with different rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Extraordinary & Legendary. In addition, items can have special attributes.
  

• When opening a crate, your items can have special attributes.
  
• Color - Every item earned from crates comes in a different color. There are 4 tiers of color rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare & Legendary.
  
• Shiny - There is a very small chance an item is shiny. These items are very rare, and will give off a glow / shine.
  
• Brand- Hats have a small chances of being branded with "YIKE".
  

• Complete daily quests to earn crates.
  
• Once you complete a daily quest, you can claim your item.
  
• You receive a new quest 24 hours after claiming your item.
  
• There's probably a few bugs with this, literally finished the system like 5 minutes before uploading this update lol
  

• Can now freecam spectate when eliminated.
  
• Inventory section in Main Menu.
  
• "Featured Items" and item shop integration. Visit the Item Shop Here, or find it in-game.
  
• Steam Marketplace support; you can sell and buy items on the Steam Market.
  
• Various optimizations and bug fixes.
  

Crab Game Content Update 2

Second content update. This is also a pretty small one, since I spent a lot of time dealing with server flooding issues, but that has all been resolved now. I wanted to get started on adding some customization and cosmetics, but didn't have time due to the server issues. Planning on getting started on that right after this update goes up though.

Crab Game Content Update 1

First content update. This is a pretty small one, since I spent most of this week fixing bugs and issues, and barely had time for anything else.
A lot of you are requesting customization, so I will be working on that next, as well as more maps and gamemodes.

[h3]Networking[/h3]

• Your IP can NOT be leaked anymore.
  
• Switched from old Steam Networking to new Steam Networking
  
• Your IP is masked, packets are now relayed through Steam servers, meaning your IP is safe.
  
• There might be some issues due to this. I had to completely swap out the old networking, but I'll work on making it run smoother!

• Race - Make it to the goal before the other players

Crab Game Launch and Updates

Hope you're all chillin. Thanks for a great launch, I had a lot of fun seeing the crazy lobbies.
Thanks for all the bug reports and issues found, I've updated the game a couple times, and a bunch of things have been fixed (see below).

One of the biggest changes is that server should be better able to handle a lot of people now. I've currently set the cap to 40 players, but if it plays well without lag, we can slowly increase it to see how well it holds up.

[h3]Patch notes[/h3]

• Optimized networking and bandwitdth usage, servers should hopefully hold up better now
  
• You can now turn off chat in Game Settings
  
• Lobby names now use profanity filter
  
• Tile drive would sometimes kill the winners, that has been fixed now
  
• Updated some of the music
  
• Changed the way movement updates are received. This can cause players to appear laggy from far away, but is a necessary change to allow more players in a single server. I'd love feedback on this.
  
  
• Fixed an issue where you could not kick / ban dead players
  
• Fixed an issue where you could not get the correct lobby ID if you were not host
  
• Fixed an issue where you would spawn in lava on Lanky Lake lol
  
• Fixed an issue where Bomb Tag timer would go on for much longer even though there were no bombs
  
• Fixed some buggy UI buttons and scrolling
  
• When typing in chat, you will no longer move around
  
• Crouch spamming has been nerfed
  
• A bunch of other small bugs and issues
  
• Server list shows if your version is compatible with the server version or not.
