The German text translation of Warp Frontier is now available on the store! The translation was headed up by Michael Stein of Warlocs, who are known for high quality translations, especially for adventure games! https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/
Warp Frontier will be releasing a German text translation on June 6th! The German localization has been headed up by Michael Stein of Warlocs (https://warlocs.com/), and a small team that has recently completed translations for Cloudpunk, Gibbous and Saint Kotar. This is Warp Frontier's second translation release, after the Chinese localization released during the Lunar New Year. The translation has been in talks since around December 2021, so this has been quite a process, but good translators are worth waiting for. https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/

Warp Frontier is getting Chinese and German translations!
The Simplified and Traditional Chinese translations are launching for the Lunar New Year, and the German translation is coming in April. Hopefully an Aussie point and click adventure will translate well into other languages. I'm trying these first two to test the waters.
I ramble on more about it here.

Last week I caught up with the guys from the In The Deep End podcast. There were some really insightful questions about Warp Frontier and Brawsome origins!
Also, I recorded this at 6:30am to compensate for the time difference, so excuse me if I'm a little groggy.

* Fixed conversation choices appearing when leaving facility with Titus if previously attempted to leave before securing facility Oh, and if you're reading this, if you wouldn't mind leaving a review for Warp Frontier that'd be grand :).
* Fixed MAC not accepting magnets near vent if closest airlock door was closed (Thanks to https://twitter.com/jp_olvr for finding this!) * Fixed issue with Titus' shadow showing up while he is in the pod * Updated to version 1.1.3
I've had some feedback that players would like to be able to skip ship transitions in order to speed up their travels around Cetus' orbit. This was somewhat tricky because there was no plan to be able to skip transitions so it required particular care and planning to as not to break any existing scenarios, but it looks as though I've been able to come up with a stable solution and now you can click to skip ship transitions! So get ready to mash that mouse button like it's a MOBA and navigate Warp Frontier a little quicker! I've also been discovering a few interesting bugs that can be found on some of the lesser travelled paths through the game, which are now fixed in this build! Update Summary: * Updated ship transition animations to be skippable on click * Fixed timing issues on machines that occasionally drop below 15fps, resulting in occasional incorrect pathing * Fixed bug where you could use the strange device on the pod to revive the occupant of the disc even if it didn't match the pod occupant * Fixed issue when leaving arcade where ship would not be visible during transition * Updated to version 1.1.2
Greetings from Brawsome!
Warp Frontier is coming to Linux and Mac! I have just now finished testing that they run on those platforms and got the Steam integration hooked up. If you're an owner of Warp Frontier already, or would like to test on those platforms please reach out and I'll get a small group going. If everything goes well I hope to be able to release on those platforms next month!

One of the biggest complaints so far has been the small number of save slots, and while I can't give you unlimited slots right now, I have decided to update with another 11 slots! There was also one progression blocker fixed. It was triggered when using the arrow shortcuts to select a particular conversation option when talking to Dorothy via the communicator. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused to players that discovered this. Here's a summary of the changes: * Increased number of save slots from 5 to 16. Which is Autosave + 15 manual slots * Updated Autosave to save when safe after Birthday Party conversation * Fixed some typos and punctuation issues on MAC Report and Hints * Fixed some subtitles, hints and descriptions that had extra words in them * Fixed fuse boxes not showing up in Hotspot Scan in the mine corridor * Added a message for using the pistol on Titus after his awakening * Updated Titus to walk forward slightly when coming out of pod, so he doesn't become overlapped by any pods that come afterwards * Updated MAC report to not mention Vince drinking if he didn't drink * Fixed issue where using shortcut arrows to select conversation options while talking to Dorothy about her daughter via the communicator would select the wrong options * Updated to version 1.1.1

I had a nice chat with Seoirse Gorka Dunbar from the Adventure Games Podcast last week ahead of Warp Frontier releasing this week.
We managed to cover a surprising amount of ground in 90 minutes, from accents, growing up, my motivations around making games, and through pretty much the entire history of Brawsome up to this point.

Greetings from Brawsome! Warp Frontier releases in a week! The craziness of a three year development cycle has stablized at Brawsome HQ just long enough to consider adding one more thing to the Warp Frontier release in the form of a standalone soundtrack! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1765900/Warp_Frontier_Soundtrack/ Thomas Regin did a fantastic job composing the score of Warp Frontier, which has influences from The Expanse, The Dig, and The Terminator. It's an 80's sci-fi inspired sound track that feels unlike anything else. The soundtrack will drop the same time as Warp Frontier. Throw it up on your wishlist, if that's your thing.
Greetings from Brawsome! It's finally happening! Three years after Brawsome's return to Australia from the US, it's releasing its next game - Warp Frontier! Warp Frontier is a fully voiced 2D sci-fi point and click adventure, in HD resolution, coming to screens the 28th of September, 2021, on Steam, GOG and Switch for US$14.99. Initial PC release will be Windows, with MAC and Linux versions to follow. Warp Frontier is a sci-fi cop drama, set in the year 2215, in orbit around Cetus, humanity's newest extrasolar colony, but at its core is an Australian story, with many parallels with Australia's short history. You play Vincent Cassini, supported by his robot partner, MAC, as they become embroiled in an investigation into a horrendous war crime, in which Vince has a personal stake, from the war that environmentally devastated their planet. Vince is on the verge of a mid-life crisis, dealing with PTSD, alcoholism and survivors guilt, but must keep it together for those that rely on him, his family, the refugees of Cetus and the thousands that went missing during the war. Warp Frontier contains many choices that result in branching pathways, leading to characters opening up, or closing off, the life or death of key characters, and the lives of thousands of innocent civilians. The final scene has around 16 permutations of resolution, from choices made as early as the first few scenes. Players can expect an initial playtime of 6-8 hours, but will need at least 3 playthroughs to experience all content. Warp Frontier was inspired by hard sci-fi, such as the novels of Alistair Reynolds, and the writings of Ray Kurzweil, as well as the TV series' The Expanse, and Altered Carbon. It's set in a what-if universe, where a singularity event in 2050 nearly wiped-out humanity, resulting in the outlawing of Artificial General Intelligence, and replicators. The game-changing Warp technology, made possible by the discovery of a rare element, has allowed a handful of new human colonies to establish in the far-reaches of the galaxy. Over time, branches of humanity have grown apart, separated by distance and environmental factors, to call into question what defines humanity, coupled with technology that cheats death, and challenges the concept of a soul. Development of Warp Frontier has been a manic series of highs and lows, but determination and a healthy dose of naive optimism have brought the idea from a dog-eared notepad to big and small screens (considering big to be a TV. A big TV). Though Brawsome's previous titles are all crafted as very personal projects, Warp Frontier hits particularly close to home, being my first quintessentially Australian offering, drawing on my experiences growing up in multicultural Australia as a child of immigrant parents, as well as my first outing in voice acting (MAC), and also my boys first voice acting experience (Sam, Ferdinand). The entire game was developed remotely, mostly during the pandemic. None of the team members were able to meet in person during development. Brawsome again teamed up with Matt Martin (MacGuffin's Curse, Jolly Rover) on art, to work in Matt's preferred photo-realistic style. Thomas Regin (Unavowed) provided an 80's sci-fi inspired score, and newcomer Michelle Doherty handled the skeletal 2D animation. Brawsome was also fortunate enough to work with veteran Aussie voice actors Kevin Powe (Vince), Aimee Smith (Trish, Julie, Ship) and Angela Tran (Dahlia, Jet, Sok), as well as veteran and new actors from New Zealand, the US, UK and Serbia. https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/
I've been posting a few videos of Warp Frontier's development over the last 3 years. Some videos as far back as 2019! You can check them out in this YouTube List https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlxqKStZS1M&list=PLhQHVdFVeI5sKKNZg6XRu9IWG7J7PRMXF We were using Blender for greyboxing of scenes, which beats the hand-drawn scanned images I've used on previous games. The animation went through a few iterations as well. I've saved all the videos of my first play through the entire game from about mid-2020, but I'm not sure if there's a good way to share them without lots of spoilers. So, I've just tried to pick out a few that don't give away too much! https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/

Next up in the Warp Frontier Voice Actor spotlights is Aimee Smith! Aimee plays Juliet Cassini. Fierce leader in the war resistance, but whose whereabouts have been a mystery for the last 10 years. Vince never gave up looking for her. Juliet is a mystery character we hear bits and pieces of throughout the game. I'm purposefully keeping her look vague here to avoid spoilers! https://youtu.be/rOVRVuxho3E This is the final voice actor spotlight for Warp Frontier. Does it feel like there have been a lot? There have been a lot! You can revisit all 24 of them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn6Ye896qAc&list=PLhQHVdFVeI5seW65ghXaXADS7dMbzqJPm I probably underestimated the effort required to get all of these done and post about them, like I do with most things, but I'm happy with the result, and I hope people found them interesting. As this marks the end of the voice actor spotlights, the next adventure is getting some testers into the game, which I'll start collating next week, but hit me up if you're interested and can dedicate some tim to the game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/ #voiceactor #PointAndClick #IndieGameDev
Next up in the Warp Frontier Voice Actor spotlights is Lazar Djuki! Lazar Djuki plays Denko Novak. Veteran of the Cetan war, serving as the General Kuznetsov's personal security. Lazar has great energy, and had to tone it down a little for Denko. Lazar seems like the kind of actor that I would have been able to cast on Jolly Rover. Maybe there are more roles for him in future! Lazar took on 4 roles in Warp Frontier, but I'm only showcasing two of them here. In the game this voice is processed through a helmet radio, so this is probably the only 'clean' version you'll hear. https://youtu.be/KJgVAXCsbQE https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/ #voiceactor #PointAndClick #IndieGameDev
Next up in the Warp Frontier Voice Actor spotlights is Angela Tran! Angela plays Sok. A street kid from the Rust, their home planet's orbital slum. Sok puts on a tough front, but will lose his cool in the face of a real threat. This is Angela's third and final spotlight, though she voiced a computer as well, there wasn't enough lines to warrant another. Behind Vince and MAC, Angela had the third-most lines in the game, which makes her a pretty major part of Warp Frontier. I hope this isn't the the project I get to work with here on! https://youtu.be/-x1nokiox5w https://store.steampowered.com/app/226280/Warp_Frontier/ #voiceactor #PointAndClick #IndieGameDev

Vincent Cassini, decorated war hero, but still just a Captain in the police force he started, is patrolling the orbital slums of his home planet Cetus, when he stumbles across a lead in a war crime that resulted in the mysterious disappearance of thousands of Cetans, including his first wife and best friend. Captain Cassini and his robot partner MAC, must ally with morally questionable characters to stop an old enemy before their crimes are erased forever.
Solve puzzles in point and click adventure style and navigate Vince’s relationships with his family, allies and enemies. The decisions you make and the order in which you undertake tasks result in varying outcomes each playthrough, potentially costing the lives of thousands. Your actions ultimately decide what type of father, partner, friend, officer and saviour Vince will be.

- A 2D point and click adventure in HD
- 6-8 hours of gameplay with branching decisions, resulting in multiple unique ending sequences
