This Saturday, 30th September, 14:15 CET, Roto Force will be part of the SHMUP Fest Relay 2023. This is an event hosted by the SHMUP fan community and will showcase amazing games and amazing players. Hi Everyone! First off: the game will be 20% OFF during Steam SHMUP Fest! Roto Force admittedly only very loosely fits the definition of a SHMUP, but until Steam creates the "Rotating Arena Bullet Hell Run 'n' Gun" Fest, this will do just fine. This update is meant to smooth out the difficulty curve for first time players, as well as giving veterans something to chew on. Some of the bosses proved to be a bit of a too steep step up in difficulty than they were intended to. So they have been made just a bit less ferocious to bring them more in line with the difficulty curve of the rest of the game. Don't worry that this will make it too easy, as a Boss Rush mode has been added for anyone that has beaten the game already. Which tasks you to beat a series of bosses or minibosses one after another, without checkpoints, only getting 1 hp back between bossfights. As well as an unlockable even harder version of bosses for Boss Rush. Lastly the Spread Shot has been reworked to be a bit quicker. Because the increased cooldown after a charged shot, made charging up feel too often like punishment instead of a reward. This rework makes it have less down time while still retaining short-range burst potential. Reminder that the game will be 20% OFF during Steam SHMUP Fest, so this is a good opportunity to grab the game! The demo has been updated to fix a crash on startup for some windows machines. So please try again if the demo did not launch for you at all. Also includes other small bug fixes and improvements. Feel free to report any issues you encounter.

Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce that Roto Force, a game I've been working on for some years now, will finally release this summer July 18th! Spread the word, get excited, wishlist the game, do what you need to do! For this occasion the demo has also been updated to reflect the current state of the game. As always, reporting any crashes you encounter helps me prevent them from happening, also eager to hear about any options or settings you might be missing. (PS: there was a short period where there was a crash in the tutorial of the demo, so if the game crashed on you, try again it should be fixed now.) Wish you a nice day! - Anton

This is a small update to the demo, to fix a crash on startup for older graphics cards. Also includes minor bug fixes and quality of life improvements. If you encounter any issues, please feel free to report them in the forums or send an email (the game will show an email address upon crashing). The demo will continue to be updated with crash fixes.
