Daring Academy Alpha 0.0.6 is coming on January 1st, 2023!

While not adding the voice sound effects like wanted, due to internal issues and all, this update still adds a lot of useful aspects to the game, mainly the Music Room, colored textboxes, and all. This update acts as a polishing update for Chapter 1, and add code for Chapter 2. Unfortunately, Alpha 0.1.0 might take longer to be released, as I recently moved out and need to buy more for it, like a desk, chair, and such. I sincerely apologize for that. Note: As with any alphas, there are a ton of internal code changes, so saves might not be compatible between the old versions, so beware. Important note: There is an issue with the new Discord Rich presence code that may crash/freeze the game upon full restart of Windows or recompiling of the game and Discord is opened. To fix this, close the game, open Task Manager, right click Discord select "End Task", then open the game again. A proper fix is in investigation and will be fixed in a future update. Thanks to SelLillianna and Jaydon (A) for playtesting throughout Alpha 0.0.6's development phase.

- Added different textbox, side image, and namebox background colors for colored-named characters
- Added colors to Bernard and Helen's names
- Added a fonts selector to the settings, adding more options for accessibility (Maybe some easter eggs too)
- Added extended support for self-voicing
- Added discord rich presence to the character customization screen
- Added a dissolve to Ren'Py's default accessibility screen
- Added the ability to name your save files to easily find them when needed (Thanks to BadMustard for giving a code for that)
- Changed the design of the main character so each gender have different sprites and poses
- Changed all sound captions so they match up with standard captioning rules from the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP)
- Changed all music captions from ""(Song Name)" by (Song Artist) is playing." to "(Song Artist) - (Song Name)", following the standard captioning rules from the Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP)
- Changed the links attached to "Fruits Basket" and "It's True, Isn't It?" in Day 1 and the "Fruits Basket" link in the credits from Funimation to Crunchyroll, due to the Funimation & Crunchyroll merge in March 2022
- Changed the "Toggle the game between Windowed and Fullscreen modes." tooltip in the Display option to "Toggle the game between Windowed and Fullscreen modes. (Desktop only)"
- Changed the "Toggle a small blinking arrow at the end of texts to show when to proceed." tooltip in the Customization option to "Toggle a small blinking arrow at the end of texts to show when to proceed. Note for windowed PC users: Contains an issue where it's shifted down a bit. A fix is in the works."

- Fixed an issue where if the Green citizenship card was chosen, the image was the grey one
- Fixed an issue where the version number at the bottom of gameplay wasn't showing
- Fixed issues with self-voicing
- Fixed an issue where achievements were still shown when rolling back
- Removed all people from the credits who didn't have to do anything with Chapter 1

After high school, the player moves into a new apartment in the city of Olis with their best friend Amelia Sweet to attend college at Sacred Heart Academy. Meet Lily Cortez, Rose Wheatley, Elizabeth Robinson and Clementine Neonica, create trust, relationships, explore the deepest parts of Olis, collect clues and tons more in this semester filled with craziness.
Amelia Sweet
A young 18-year-old girl and the main character's best friend. Amelia Sweet tries to stay by their side to help with any issues or pain they may have, and 10 years later, their friendship is still as strong as ever. Amelia is often shown as a sweet and caring person, but is often reserved as she doesn't wanna show her emotions to other people. She often spends her time alone, and talks to other people other than just her best friend.
Lily Cortez
She might have issues that she doesn't want to reveal to anyone, Lily Cortez, a 17-year-old girl, has been raised to be a sweet girl. Even though she is often shown as a shy person, and is often reserved as she doesn't wanna show her emotions to other people, she often spends her time alone, dealing with her weaknesses due to her mother's death.
Rose Wheatley
"The Aperture Science Enrichment Center promises to always provide a safe testing environment." is what Rose Wheatley, a 19-year-old girl, always thinks whenever at home with Iris Wheatley, her sister, and her parents. A Portal 2 lover to the core. While Rose is generally an outgoing and active person, she usually spends most of her time with her best friend, Lily Cortez, to overcome Lily's depression due to her mother's death.
Elizabeth Robinson
"And though I know, since you've awakened her again. She depends on you, she depends on you." While she is a fan of Porter Robinson, Elizabeth Robinson, an 18-year-old girl, is often told she is an angel, she's usually sweet, caring and passionate about others but if she's in a debate, she will push it beyond her limits, trying every inch to win it.
Clementine Neonica
VANISHMENT THIS WORLD! If you feel weird about her behavior, it's common with Clementine Neonica, an 18-year-old girl. She is a chūnibyō, constantly living out her fantasies and exhibiting strange behaviors as a result. She's very open about them, and she claims that she has "Fast Movement" and "Hard Light Construct", and a crystal which "traps light in order to use her powers at night". Though she does her best to commit to her fantasies, she can break character, such as when she feels embarrassed or flustered.
This game covers sensitive topics which some players may find upsetting. Please see in-game for more details.
