Hello, TGP fans and players! This patch focuses on fixing many bugs, especially ones related to multiplayer and saving+loading. It also adds a fair few items and touches up the default houses. This has been a long time coming, enjoy!
Multiplayer fixes and additions
- Countless fixes for (multiplayer) saving and loading
- Reconnecting to a session in progress (both from the lobby screen and after a disconnect)
- Ready button in the lobby
- Duplicate aspects no longer break things
- Random seed is loaded and shared correctly, and already used for lobby randomness
- Client players can no longer get desynced (disabled on the hosts end) when entering a dungeon
- Consuming an item directly from the sylladex no longer breaks things
- Checkboxes for allow duplicate aspects/classes/classpects now work properly
- Disallowing duplicate classpects now tries to give everyone their most liked instead of least liked classpect

- Resprited 4 back hair pieces (15, 32, 37, 53)
- Added missing back hair dyes (2, 7, 11)
- Fixed 2 back hair half-dyes (6, 28)

Item and Alchemy fixes
- Ranged weapons correctly take into account accrual and buffs

- Items made through implicit alchemy can now have descriptions and prefabs
- Order (a || b vs b || a) no longer matters for alchemy
- Perfectly Generic Objects can still be punched but no longer be used in alchemy themselves
- Fixed a couple of cases where sprite-altering tags broke things
- Fix infinite punching exploit
New Chat Commands
- /gate, to enter a specific gate on the current land
- /sv-enter, a multiplayer-safe way to make a specific player enter
- /id, to get your player ID
House Building
- Floors can now be added adjacent to stairs and existing floor
- Revise tool now shows a button for rooms as well
- Bottom floor of apartment houses no longer has broken walls
Modding
- Adding to asset bundles is now supported
- Completely custom echeladders are possible again
Other
- Character sprites no longer sometimes have a strange rotation for a single frame
- Proper credits page with current and past contributors

- Loading houses in the house creator is possible again - Fix ranged attacks and abilities that use the mouse position for targetting not working in multiplayer - Make "give me this item" quests work - Make sure underlings get the right grist type in multiplayer - Giclopses, gremlins and titachnid now get the stats they're supposed to have - Underling names no longer sometimes have (Clone) at the end We also added a chat filter, because there were reports of people purposely putting slurs in their lobby names. If it's too strict we'll have future patches to fine-tune it to make sure you can still do a comic-accurate Karkat.

If you're observant, you might notice there's now a Workshop tab. You can even subscribe to items, and they'll magically show up in your game! No need to update your game, this was already included in the previous patch :) This'll give modders a nice, central place to share their work, and everyone else an easy way to use it.

- Fixed a bug that caused all lands to have nakodiles
- Custom shirt symbols no longer sometimes show up as '?'

- The Witch and Maid of Space's abilities no longer leave the target slightly stronger after it wears off

This patch should hopefully make loading saved sessions work better, fixes two annoyances in house creation, and get rid of some mysterious bugs with building after visiting your land.
- Fix the game loading in the wrong land
- No more falling through the land upon loading
- In the house creator, save the player's current position as spawn point
- Fix checks for whether furniture can be placed
- Make sure when loading, clothes go in the correct slots (no more wearing your pants as a hat)
- Prevent empty lobby names
- Make sure gates and return nodes show up at the right height
- No longer save items on a table or in a furnace twice

This patch fixes a widespread bug where gates, dungeons and transportalizer stations in multiplayer take you to a grey void instead of your destination. This should make multiplayer a lot more playable! Other new things:
- The loading screen now sticks around until you've successfully joined the session
- There is now an option to join by lobby ID

This patch replaces our existing character controller with a new (old) one. This should fix a lot of issues regarding teleportation and some issues regarding projectiles. There are also minor fixes included, please refer to the list below for a more complete list.

This should fix the infamous grey screen bug when joining sessions! If you still get it, please let us know.
- Fix two different bugs that could prevent you from joining a session properly, getting a grey screen instead
- Implement proper debug console (you can open that with F2)

An update to The Genesis Project has been released. The minor changes include:

After a long and eventful year, we have finally made the jump to Steam! I think many of you would agree that seeing this game appear in your Steam library feels surreal and unexpected, as it does for us. After a long and arduous process of reworking the game's multiplayer and housing code, as well as the rework of saving and loading sessions, we think the game is ready to hit Early Access. The game still has a lot of bugs, yet we are committed to fix them all. And Steam makes this process a lot easier.
But what does this mean exactly for the game?
It means, we are able to roll out bugfixes and updates more efficiently than ever, our multiplayer got a huge boost since we are able to use Steam's lobby and relay servers and we have a straightforward installation method of the game for all platforms!
So what has changed in total since 0.4.13?
Added
- New books, including the community poetry event book! (Can you find and read them all?)
- New models These include: Models for Time, Life and Blood planets, models from LoWaS and iron-related models
- 71.5 new items Special picks from yours truly, I highly recommend the Squiddle Dress, the Pe2terPoggle2, and the Mushroom Hat!
- 6 new symbols
- 4 Fringes and 9 Hairstyles
- Library containing LiteDb classes we use for items
- A tutorial button inside the session which opens a guide in Steam
- Roofs for houses
Changed
- Updated Unity version to 2020 LTS
- Reworked multiplayer to use Mirror and either Steam or the KCP protocol Multiplayer should be a lot more optimized and less buggy now. There still might be bugs though.
- Reworked houses Houses from 0.4.13 will be compatible, so make sure they work in 0.4.13. Older houses will need to be upgraded using older versions of TGP.
- Reworked how global chat works internally
- Rework the lobby code to use Steams lobbies instead of our own
- Reworked saving and loading of the game Sessions are now saved every 5 minutes. You will also be nagged to save the session once you try to exit the game. Sessions are saved on the hosts computer inside the StreamingAssets folder under SaveData. Saved sessions are also synced with the Steam Cloud, so you don't have to worry about changing devices.
- Changed how loading of items and recipes works The item database will only be opened at the start of the game and reads all items in and is then closed. Custom items can be stored in different database files for early modding support.
- Changed the logo in the main menu to the new logo
- Moved loading of a session into the lobby
- Posters are now regular items instead of its own thing
- Changed the Update button from the main menu to a tutorial button
- Updated the assets for 6.5 items, as well as 2 Prototyped Sprites
