The soundtrack for A Musical Story is getting the vinyl treatment courtesy of iam8bit! A double LP printed on purple and yellow vinyl, with sleeve art by the game's artistic director, Alexandre Rey, it looks absolutely lush:
The album includes 26 tracks from the game by Charles Bardin and Alexandre Rey, and also features a special bonus track recorded exclusively for the vinyl by Disasterpeace. Pre-orders for the album start this Thursday, 17 November. You can find more details on the iam8bit site. The album is being released as part of a special 'Vinyl Bonanza' collection. Wanted to share the news that A Musical Story recently received two 'Honorable Mentions' as part of this year's Independent Games Festival Awards. It was recognised in the 'Excellence in Audio' and 'Excellence in Visual Art' categories. There were over 400 entries, so for A Musical Story to be shortlisted TWICE is a wonderful achievement and testament to the talents of developer Glee-Cheese Studio. The IGF Awards take place in March as part of GDC 2022. You can find the full list of Finalists and Honorable Mentions here. And the accolades don't stop there A Musical Story is a finalist in the 'Best Audio' category at the upcoming Taipei Game Show '2022 Indie Game Awards' (winners will be announced later this month), and at the end of last year it won 'Best Art Direction' at the Indie X Awards. A demo for A Musical Story is live and available to download now from the Steam page! It consists of the first 10 chapters (there will be 26 in the full game), and serves as an introduction to the story, which sees leading man Gabriel and his friends set out on a 1970s road trip to chase their dreams, and escape the humdrum of their everyday lives. We're releasing the demo to coincide with the start of the London Games Festival, which runs 19-28 March.
