Fellow AnthropomorFANS, As I already teased last week, the big update has just been released. steamhappy Before I get to the changelog, here's a small drawback for the upcoming update; so please read carefully:
This new version is not compatible with older savegames. If you are currently playing through the game, either it with the older version or dive right into the new one.
We've created a beta branch for the game that runs with the old version, just to make sure that everyone that is currently in the middle of a playthrough won't have to start from scratch. Here's how to access the Beta Branch through the Steam Client:
- Right-click Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard in your Steam Library and choose Properties
- Navigate to the Betas tab
- Enter the phrase OwlsgardReleaseBuild to the text box and hit Check Code
- Under Beta Participation choose the branch public_rc_old from the dropdown menu
Here's the changelog for the update:
- Spanish translation added
- French translation added
- Leftover development message when looking at the robot's drill got removed
- Little adjustments of text position on some scenes for better readability
- Invisible placeholder character removed from pub scene
- Fixed some mixed up text when giving items to NPC
- adjusted multiple walkable areas to prevent player from clipping through certain spots
- Game no longer crashes when leaving with Boleks ship
- Game Over menu can now be navigated on Linux and Steam Deck
Fellow AnthropomorFANS, For the last weeks, I've been working hard on getting this update up and running - and we're almost there. The new update will go live on April 19th, so be prepared. steamhappy Before I get to the changelog, here's a small drawback for the upcoming update; so please read carefully:

Hey retro game fans, owl fanatics and clubmoss lovers! A quick little update regarding the release date of Owlsgard here! I already posted something about this on Kickstarter and on the official Twitter account. To make it short - I sadly needed to postpone the release date to later this year. I really gave 200% to have everything finished for a release this September, but as it often is the case, things need longer than expected. No matter how much time you spend working on a project like this... in the end you always underestimate just how much work it is to finish it all up! ^^" The last 15% of game development is usually really tough and time-consuming, especially if you develop it all as a single person. The voice acting is still being recorded and implemented, and I still need time for the testing, bugfixing, polishing and the implementation of the multiple translations. I hope you understand, and I will do my best to hopefully bring you all this game in December! :D Regards, Hans
Hey retro game fans, owl fanatics and clubmoss lovers :D Owlsgard's demo has released today on Steam and Itch.io, and the Kickstarter campaign has just started! Feel free to take a look if you like! :) >Kickstarter Page< I wish you a pleasant rest of the day and I hope you will have a lot of fun with the demo! :D And if you see a reward on the Kickstarter page that you like, it would mean so much to me if you leave a pledge there. :) Best regards, Hans

[previewyoutube=ad0XveP1wtc;full][/previewyoutube] Deer wishlisters, owl fanatics and clubmoss lovers! In order to make my game "Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard" as polished and fun to play as possible, a Kickstarter campaign will be launched soon. Among other things, like adding more localizations, it's supposed to help me implement the full voice acting (german, english) that is planned for the final version. If all goes well, I hope to release Owlsgard as timely as I can, with every character fully voiced throughout the game. If you want to be notified when it starts (to grab some nice early bird discount ;P), feel free to subscribe to the newsletter at www.owlsgard-game.com, or check for updates on this steam page! Also, stay tuned for the Demo that will release along with the campaign! :)

Beyond The Edge Of Owlsgard is an old-school point & click adventure game that is reminiscent of the animated movies and Saturday morning cartoons of decades gone by. While it is obviously inspired by the LucasArts and Sierra classics, it also strives to create its own style and identity by returning to the original “adventure” aspect of the genre. Aside from solving the obligatory inventory-based puzzles, this means a heavy focus on exploring mysterious lands, uncovering secrets and dealing with all kinds of dangers.
Strange things are happening in the animal kingdom of Velehill. Unknown shadows of large appearance are seen roaming through the forests and making the ground shake with every step of their steel feet. Houses and trees are destroyed and one animal after the other seems to disappear mysteriously.
Finn, a young roebuck, soon finds out about the disappearance of his family as well. Without hesitation, he goes on a journey to find them, not knowing he and his new friend Gwen the owl will soon uncover a dark secret that should have been kept hidden for all eternity...
- An immersive story told through hand-drawn landscapes and countless animations!
- A return to the “adventure” aspect of the genre – a big focus on exploring whimsical places, uncovering secrets, and dealing with tense and dangerous situations
- Cinematic cutscenes, reminiscent of hand-drawn animated movies, mixed with a pixel art aesthetic
- Atmospheric soundtrack, inspired by the old midi classics everyone knows and loves
- 6-8 hours of gameplay
