For some reason it was possible to get the game to try and set a resolution of 0x0 when changing the game settings. Sanity checks were added to try and prevent this. Hopefully it works!
The CardConquest beta has been added for all platforms. Now everyone can enjoy the two player strategy game of conquest and intrigue! Not really that much intrigue, but a lot of fighting and conquest! Battle it out with tanks and infantry and, as the name suggests, cards! Destroy your opponent's units! Capture your opponent's base! Play the right card and not the wrong one!
I have included another game of mine, CardConquest as part of Stalks Stalks Stalks. You should now see a launch option when starting the game to choose whether you want to play Stalks Stalks Stalks or CardConquest. CardConquest is a two player strategy game where you try and capture the enemies base or eliminate all of their units. Multiplayer only. 2 player only. Note: CardConquest is in beta and a bit rough. Resolution is hard coded at 1280x720 for now. Probably some game breaking bugs, especially with the UI. Definitely balancing issues. Oh well! You can find out more on what CardConquest is and how to play on my itch.io page for it here https://rodzianko.itch.io/cardconquest . I will also be including a manual for the steam store soon. The steam store doesn't reflect the changes yet, but it will soon when I get off my lazy butt!
This should allow for the MacOS build to be used. Note: MacOS is doing something weird with the way I was trying to set the resolution of the game, so right now the MacOS build is hard coded to be 1920x1080. Sorry. This is the first time I have used a mac since back when the computers had handles on them and I couldn't figure out how to get it to work correctly (or how to find a minimized window)
As far as I can tell, you can now download, install, and play the game on Linux! I've only tested this in a Ubuntu vm, but I was able to host my own game in Ubuntu and had a windows player join, and as a Ubuntu player was able to join a windows game. #wow #whoa
Some reviewers have requested that the starting wealth for games be adjustable. Well, now it is! The default is still $10k, but players can now set the starting wealth between $150 and $69,420 if they choose so. Note: The "SSS_NETWORTH_FIFTY" achievement, where a player ends the game with a networth of at least $50k, will ONLY be valid if the starting wealth is set to $10k or lower
- Fixed the 99 year game achievement. Bad if/else statement... - Removed the "Cheater" achievement
Loses weren't actually being accumulated for the achievements. That should be fixed now.
Yeehaw Achievements and softened yearly changes for longer games. Hopefully that means fewer stalks will go bankrupt before the game ends.
Pushing these updates using my laptop that can barely run unity. Hopefully this works!
