New patch live since January 21st, 2021! Nothing major, but here's the details for those interested.

Patch notes

Fixes achievements not always unlocking

Some players could not get the Paramount Paladin achievement to unlock. If this was the case for you, simply load your saved game. Achievement should unlock once the save icon pops up on the right of the screen. The "Entry-Level CPU", "Mid-Range CPU" and "Cutting Edge CPU" achievements could be unlocked when earning a medal in any extra mode except the Challenge mode. New patch now include all extra modes. From now on, every new medal earned in the Challenge mode will count towards unlocking those achievements.

Fixes reconnection issues

Panzer Paladin gets a physical edition & vinyl release!

You've been waiting for it, now it's here: the physical release of Panzer Paladin for Nintendo Switch by Limited Run Games. The time-limited preorder has already started and ends January 24th at 11:59 PM (ET).
Also available, the Panzer Paladin Collectors' Limited Edition including the game on Switch with reversible cover, a complete 4-CD set including both Original and Classic 8-bit soundtracks, premium metal figures of Flame and Grit and a 18"x24" reversible poster. All of it housed in an outer box featuring unique cover art.

"But wait! There's more!"

We are also releasing a vinyl soundtrack for Panzer Paladin. It's a triple LP including the full Original soundtrack of the game and selected tracks from the Classic 8-bit soundtrack. All tracks - including the Classic 8-bit ones that were left out of the vinyl release - will be available digitally through an included download code. The cover is inspired from 60's jazz vinyl covers. Preorder window is the same as for the game.

F.A.Q. about the physical edition

Will the physical copy include the latest Challenge Core content update? Sure thing! Will Panzer Paladin for Switch be released elsewhere? What about a European release? Since the console is region-free, this Limited Run Games release is the only one planned for Switch. It is possible a standard edition of the game will be available at Best Buy (distributed by Limited Run Games again) but there is nothing confirmed as of now so it is better not to count on it. Collectors' Edition is only available through the Limited Run Games website. When will this release ship? Since it is a preorder, it is not expected to ship until 4-5 months after the preorder window closes in late January. Is this a Limited Run numbered release? Panzer Paladin is not part of the Limited Run Games Collection and is not a numbered release. Limited Run is distributing Panzer Paladin on our behalf. We need your help to nominate Panzer Paladin for Best Soundtrack!

Hey guys! Yes, 2 Steam announcements in 3 days, that might be a record for us! This time we need your help!

Steam Awards: Cast your vote now!

It's that time of there year when the Steam community has the power to bring some games under the spotlight. This would mean a lot to us if you could spend just 2 seconds to go to the Panzer Paladin store page to nominate it for Best Soundtrack! Or if you think it would fit better in another category ("Best Game You Suck At" perhaps!) you are free to select a different one, of course. If you've played Panzer Paladin or just watched our trailers a couple of times, we wouldn't be surprised if we caught you humming the Panzer Paladin theme or doing some air-guitar on the riffs from the USA level. Patrice Bourgeault has been the music composer for almost all of our games. For Panzer Paladin, not only did he work on a full hard-rock infused 16-bit style soundtrack with 37 tracks, but he also worked on a complete classic 8-bit version of that soundtrack. So that's basically 2 soundtracks and you can pick the one you want to hear in-game! If you haven't heard about the Classic 8-bit soundtrack, it's simply because it was only released this Monday with the Challenge Core free content update. Get all the details about that update in our previous Steam announcement. With characters such as a gigantic armor, a fierce pilot and an evil raven-like demon, it just made sense to have a version of the theme by the nintendocore band. Plus, they were amazing to work with. If you haven't heard it yet, you HAVE to! Check out this video.

Challenge Core: Content Update!

New Content!

Good news! We're having a free content update for Panzer Paladin and it's available... today! It is already included in the base game. So if you purchase Panzer Paladin or already have it in your library, simply update the game and you will have access to all the Challenge Core content. This new content update includes the following new features:

New Challenge Mode with 11 rooms to truly test your skills
Speedrun replay and leaderboard now available for all new rooms
Brand New Classic 8-bit Soundtrack Option
Blacksmith Weapons Storage Increased

Challenge Mode

The new Challenge Mode offers 11 hardcore rooms to train and improve your skills. Pick up 7 Tribute cores in each room! Swiftly make your way through an array of pits, spikes, and enemies in record breaking time. Speedrun replay and leaderboards are also available for all new rooms.

Classic 8-bit Soundtrack

Patrice Bourgeault is back at it with a demake of the original soundtrack. You can make your way through the game with a classic 8-bit complete soundtrack for an on-target retro experience. Choose the 8-bit soundtrack from the options menu before entering the game. Dont worry, the Original soundtrack didnt go anywhere, it is still available! Pssst! Blacksmith Weapons Storage Increased

You asked for it and now we have it! Benefit from a larger armory to store your custom weapons created with the Blacksmith. You can now store up to 12 custom weapons. That means more melee goodness for everyone!

New Blacksmith Filter Option

Weve now made it possible for you to only play with the base weapons made by the devs. Turn off the Blacksmith filter in the options menu and only the 100 original weapons will drop in-game. Along with the above extra content, weve also fixed and improved the base game. Free Demo Now Available!

Tell your friends they can pilot a mech for free in Canada...

Greetings to all you Squire pilots out there! For the first time, we are releasing a free Steam demo for Panzer Paladin. It's already available for download on PC.

The demo gives access to:

The Canada level (Story Mode) including boss encounter
Blacksmith mode (Offline mode. Your weapon will not be shared with the community)
Speedrun mode for the Canada level
A glance at the world map

With the purchase of the full game, you'll be able to access all 17 hand-crafted levels, speedrun mode with replay for all levels and a unique tournament mode. Leaderboards are also unlocked for the 2 latter modes. In the Blacksmith mode, more custom weapon slots will be unlocked and you'll be able to share your creations online with other players! Have a friend that has Panzer Paladin on their wishlist? Let them know they can try out the game now. I mean, the subtitle's technically true! You can indeed control the mighty Paladin and explore the Canada level. You can also try to do it strictly on foot with the small Squire pilot. That's a fresh challenge! Talk to you soon... First patch: Important fixes! (v1.0.0.6805)

Hey everyone! Thanks to your feedback and reports, we were able to quickly point out and fix some bugs in Panzer Paladin. We are happy to announce that the disappearing bug with Nian, China's weapon keeper, is fixed. We have also fixed that frustrating bug that happened to some of you that made you lose progress in the Inverted Tower when exiting the game to come back later. (You still shouldn't go back to the World Map in between stages.) Today's patch includes the following.

This patch will also come to Nintendo Switch sometime later in August.

The trailer quickly reveals a new feature of the game called the Blacksmith. This mode allows you - yes, you! - to draw actual weapon pixel sprites, name them, assign them various attributes (attack damage, durability, spell, etc.), and share them with your friends through the Steam Workshop. These weapons can then be obtained in-game by defeating a certain character. Well stop right there or wed have to tag our spoilers!

Panzer Paladin is an action-platformer game featuring intuitive swordplay mechanics. The protagonist pilots the Paladin power armor to fight giant demons by using their own weapons against them.

Swordplay is the core of the game mechanics in Panzer Paladin. The player can equip and use any weapon dropped by defeated enemies, attack or block, aim high or low, use weapons advantageously through a rock-paper-scissors style weapon type system, and cast spells by breaking weapons. Weapons abound in levels, so the player is encouraged to use them profusely. The Paladin is the main way to fight enemies, but players can also eject and control Flame, the small-but-swift Squire pilot. Flame uses a laser whip to attack enemies, swing across gaps, and even recharge the Paladin’s energy.

Giant weapons — swords, lances, hammers — hailing from the dark depths of space, blazed across the sky and pierced their way through historic locations all around the world. As a declaration of war against mankind, the Parthenon, atop the Acropolis of Athens, was first to be cut through by an ominous blade. Upon impact, each of the weapons opened a breach in the fabric of reality and unleashed legions of colossal demons.

In anticipation of such unforeseen Earth-threatening events, the International Security Council formed Gauntlet, a science committee developing super-sophisticated defense technologies. Gauntlet discovers that denizens of the Netherworld can only be defeated by their own weapons. Spirit Weapons are forged with spirits of the deceased and humans can’t brandish them without becoming corrupted by their foul energy... However, a machine would be immune to demonic corruption! Gauntlet recommissions Flame, a former rescue operations android, to become a Squire. She takes control of Grit, the last remaining Paladin unit — a state-of-the-art suit of power armor capable of wielding Spirit Weapons.

To arms! Overseeing operations from aboard the Avalon, their flying headquarters, Gauntlet is ready. The showdown between mankind’s technological prowess and the powerful forces of the occult has begun! It's up to Flame and Grit to defeat the Weapon Keepers, and ultimately face off against Ravenous, the sinister leader of the invasion.
