Hello dear Goal fans! We have another regular update for you, which brings along some exciting new content. The AI will now occasionally substitute kickers and try to buy kickers from you as well. Furthermore, there are significant changes in the financial system and related systems like market value calculation. However, this means that the previous save games are no longer compatible. We tried to avoid this under all circumstances, but ultimately, it was unfortunately unavoidable, and we apologise for that. You can now have friendlies either away or at home at the start of the season or on non-game days. Additionally, there are a plethora of adjustments and bug fixes.

Hello, football fans! The European competitions are entering the hot phase. And from now on you can also try to stir up Europe with your teams in Anstoss. With the "Meisterpokal" there is now a new international tournament in which you can not only fight for honour, but also for enormous profit. In order to have the best possible overview not only there, but especially in the European competition, a new tournament tree view has also been added. However, due to the greatly improved structure of the database required for this, it is no longer possible to continue using previous saves from this point on. We apologise for this, but at the same time we have used this opportunity to lay the foundation for further competitions in the background, so that future changes here should not result in any further save game incompatibilities. Another small update for the weekend!
But before we get to the notes, something important:
We will provide a second branch of the game throughout the Early Access. It is called last_version. What is this, you ask? The principle is really simple: there are two branches of the game. One, the live version, is always available and will be updated in intervals with the latest game version. The other branch is in a kind of a retrospect state, unless updated. Update intervals may be longer here, so you can play the game without having to start new games every few days/weeks. We will announce when "last_version" version is updated. Both branches have their own saves and carrying a save from last_version to the public build may break it or may not be possible at all (read below). [hr][/hr]
How do I take part on this branch?
One or the other of you probably haven't done this yet, so we have a little guide: Prerequisite: You must have Goal! in your library. The procedure
- Open your game library.
- Click on Goal! with the right mouse button.
- Open properties.
- Select the tab "BETAS".
- Enter this password below the dropdown in the field: clubmanagerlastversion.
- Press CHECK CODE
- Use the dropdown menu and select "last_version".
- Press Close.
- Steam should now download this version of the game.

you can see it on the new roadmap: There will changes regarding the further development direction for the rest of this year as well as for 2023.
The absolute priority for us is that the game is performant, stable and fun to play with the content already available at the start of the Early Access phase.
This premise was also responsible for the release delay. Our main focus was sending an entertaining as well as functional game onto the competitive pitch.
The three weeks of additional development time have helped GOAL! in every possible way. It is more polished, it is more stable, and it is even more fun to play. However, the three weeks spent on improving and bugfixing are now missing in the schedule to add more features and content.
Also, with the launch into Early Access, we are expecting a huge amount of player feedback. In turn, we have to channel, filter and sort this before we start working on requests, bug fixes and further balancing or optimization issues. As a result, we are running out of time for the content and feature additions we had planned for this year.
When we add a new feature, we want it to fit seamlessly and not feel like a hastily tacked on appendix. It should work as smoothly and bug-free as possible.
That's why we've decided to dedicate the post-launch phase of Early Access almost entirely to community feedback as well as optimizations, balancing and bug-fixing of the existing content. In the background, the feature additions are already being prepared, but we don't want to rush anything, yet release everything as quickly as possible, but also as well-functioning as possible. We'd rather take a little longer to develop, but with a decent result.
We will keep you informed about the progress in the next weeks and months and wish you a lot of fun with GOAL! The Club Manager.

For all your patience and the support we felt over the last few weeks. It was a rocky road. And in the case of the short notice release delay it was very painful. But we also know, how long you've been patiently waiting, to feel and play the re-imagining of one the Germany's most prolific franchises. We could spend more days and weeks on fixing bugs, adding more features, testing those features, fixing bugs etc. But we don't want you to wait any longer. At the same time we feel and hope, that the current feature set will entertain you for dozens of hours, while you are trying to prepare your team for the tasks ahead and try to put your club on a financially sound foundation. This is, why now seems to be the right moment in time, to let you all in. We are looking forward to your feedback. This is extremely important and vital to us, in order to align our next development steps with you, to honor your wishes and to see, how we can connect them with our vision of a modern football management game. With absolute certainty, you will find the occasional bug and probably pixels who seem odd. A lot of what you'll discover we probably know already and are working on it. Some of what you might discover, could be a first. But regardless of new or already reported, we'll try to fix as many bugs as fast as possible. But we will also add new features and more content. Hello everyone! More time needed to deliver best possible gaming experience release postponed to November 2nd Its the same every year. The season opener is scheduled, and fans begin to make their way to the stadium in anticipation of their teams first match. They grab their seats in a sold-out stadium, nervous for kick-off. Instead of the whistle being blown and the roar of the crowd rolling out, the turnstiles are closed, and kick-off has been canceled. Its time to return home. The kick-off of GOAL! The Club Manager cant quite begin. Developer 2tainment and publisher Toplitz Productions have to announce the release of the football management sim has to be postponed on short notice. Unexpected problems have arisen in the final testing phase, which make the originally planned release on 13 October impossible. Instead, the game will now be released on 2 November 2022. In a joint statement, 2tainment and Toplitz Productions address the fans: "We have worked tirelessly for you over the past days and nights, improving features and fixing bugs. Unfortunately, a blocker has crept in that we are not able to solve in time. Thus, we have decided to postpone the release by a few weeks to give you the best possible experience."

With the Early Access release date closing in, we just wanted the features to be as accurate as possible. To achieve that we added a sidenote if that feature will be available during the Early Access phase, wherever applicable.
