Dodging Death and Difficulty and Trading Cards!

You no longer have to sit there and take it

Welcome friends, Lamentums newest update features two major quality of life updates for those who may have found the horrors of Grau Hill Manor a little too tough to handle. The first of these is being able to switch between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty, which affects the appearance rate of certain enemies and modifies Victors stats such as life, resistance, and weapon damage. The second of these is a dodge action that allows Victor to cut his attack animation short and avoid enemy attacks if used with perfect timing. Get ready to duck and dive around mortal peril, Victors got moves now!

This update also adds Steam Trading Cards to Lamentum, for all of you who want to take a bit of Grau Hill horror back with you! Full change log for the patch notes can be found below:

Difficulty selector.

You may choose your difficulty between Easy, Normal, and Hard when starting a new game. If you already have a previously created game, it is considered normal difficulty.

Easy mode:

- More life. - More stamina. - More damage on weapons. - Fewer enemies. - Increased chances of stunning enemies with firearms.

Normal mode:

- The original experience, though we have removed some enemies in the mazes and in the cemetery.

Hard mode:

- Less life. - Less stamina. - Less damage to weapons. - Altered the probability of stunning enemies with firearms. - The full number of enemies from the original version of Lamentum. When saving, the difficulty modes are represented in green for easy mode, white for normal mode and red for hard mode. A new Dodge move has been added to the game. On a keyboard it is used with space, and on gamepad it is used with the RB button. Dodge allows you to avoid the damage of any enemy attack if done at the right time, it also allows you to cut short the attacking, reloading, healing, digging animations of the player. Using dodge consumes stamina.

Lamentum News May-June 2021

Hello everybody!

This is going to be a pretty short devlog. :D We want to announce that we have finished the versions of Nintendo Switch, Ps4 and Xbox One and that we are currently working on fixing some minor bugs and taking them to the different stores of each platform. Now we just have to wait for the different stores to give us the approval or in the case that there is a problem, solve it as soon as possible. When this process is finished we will be able to give a more specific launch date. We remind you that the launch will be simultaneous on all platforms. (PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One)

About languages:

We want to inform you that we have recently added the Polish language and we plan to add some more in the future. As an additional note we also want to inform you that the French translation has given us some problems, but we are optimistic and we believe that it will be available at launch. About the closed beta: We have a closed beta in mind in July. All those who have the closed beta option in your rewards will receive an email with more information. Lamentum News

Hello everybody!

During these months we have focused on solving some bugs and polishing the build as much as possible to start working on the console port. Another important part of the development, the translations, are almost finished. It has been an intense few months, but we are moving forward!

About the current state of the build:

During the testing we have detected some bugs that we have corrected and some details that we have had to improve to guarantee the quality of the game. We have also improved enemies and balanced the weapons of the game and improved some visual aspects of the game, such as the game font or changing some details of the game's graphic interface.

News and improvements:

New map system. (More useful and improved, points of interest and save areas are now marked) New game font.

New stamina system (Now Victor only get tired when hes stressed or in combat situations) Interface improvements. (Doors, keys and puzzles) Narrative improvements.

Light system improvements. (The lamp is now more useful for exploring.)

About languages.

Translations continue at a good pace, although it is true that we thought it would be a part that would take less development time, even so, we are happy with the results. We currently have the following languages completed and integrated: -Spanish -English -Simplified Chinese - Japanese -Russian -German Working on: -French - Italian -Traditional Chinese

Achievement system:

We have included an achievement system linked to different events that will occur during the game.

We have the achievements built into Steam and we are currently working on the other platforms.

News September-October

Hi everyone! We are at the end of 2020 and we are making great progress in the development of Lamentum. During these months we have finalized important aspects of the game (secondary characters, story arcs, areas of the game) and we are focused on advancing in order to have a playable version from start to finish for the next month. This does not mean that the game is over. We still have to work on translations, tweak different aspects of the game, and do extensive beta testing. We continue to think that we will have Lamentum available for Q1 2021 on all platforms (PC, SWITCH, XBOX and PS4).
Next demo update: We will update the demo soon with some interface improvements and several bug fixes: - Changes in the map structure. - Improvements in the user's interface. - New language added (Simplified Chinese) - We will fix bugs in the running / collision system.

Lamentum is a pixel art survival-horror game set in New England in the mid-nineteenth century. To solve the dark secret at the heart of Grau Hill Mansion, you will have to immerse yourself in a nightmare world full of terrible creatures.

Choose well in whom to trust, every decision you make may alter the course of the story.

Will you survive?

Lamentum is inspired by classic survival horror games like Resident Evil and Silent Hill along with cosmic horror masterpieces, especially the Cthulhu mythos.

Lamentum is a dark and adult-themed game, in which the player can enjoy classic survival-horror gameplay.

Lamentum is a classic survival horror, so our protagonist will attain different weapons and tools during his stay at Grau Hill Mansion.

Victor will need a lamp to see in the dark, to use lock picks to open sealed doors and chests and use restoratives to recover his health. A myriad of other tools will be needed to forge a path through this twisting nightmare world.

To defend against the dangers that haunt him, Victor will have many melee and ranged weapons at his disposal.

Each weapon is different and has unique strengths and weaknesses. Choosing your weapon carefully is essential to survival.

Firearms provide a huge advantage due to their range, but they consume ammunition, a resource that is scarce in Grau Hill Mansion.

Many items may be hidden at first, use your ingenuity to find them.

You can play Lamentum with keyboard and mouse (in the PC version) or use a gamepad.

Your inventory is limited, and you will have to choose which objects to carry at each moment. In certain places you can use the item box to store objects for later use.

Our inventory system allows you to create shortcuts to frequently used objects.
