The game is designed to make the player feel like a kid again, buy playing pretend with stuffed animals, thinking your parents don't see you when you are hiding behind a lamp, and just an overall tone of nostalgia with hidden references to childhood media that the team grew up with.
Players sneak around your house as 8 year old Liam, pretending to be a ninja. Gameplay is top-down 2D, and consists of hiding behind cover, quickly dashing out of view from parents and other enemy's, completing small challenges such as freeing your stuffed animals, and acquiring items to advance to the next levels. The graphics are 2D pixel art similar to older an RPG art style. Movement is simple WASD along with a dash button. Players can interact with items on your current mission.
