Follow Our Progress!

Skystead Ranch is still a very much work in progress. All of the imagery and game footage you see is pre-release Demo so the end result may vary. 1 Week to go!

That's right, WooLoop is right around the corner! We are so excited about the release and hope you are too. Officially releasing next Friday, the 13th of January - A Spooky date for sure with all the nerves we are feeling! What's left to do?

3 main things are in progress for release.

Levels:

We still have about 1 Gallery's worth of levels to complete for next week; this may seem like a lot which is why we have hired some extra help for the next couple of months! If you are in our Discord you will have seen a "Toastie_Icy" who is our new Level Designer helping Rob make the final levels for WooLoop.

Bug Fixing and QA Testing:

Each new level needs playing to ensure there are no problems with the level before launch. As well as this, there are still a few minor bugs that are being corrected; each one needs double-checking and thorough testing.

Marketing:

As a small indie company, we have little to no marketing budget, so all marketing is done in-house. This week we went full throttle on our media outreach, contacting numerous press sites, bloggers, content creators and reviewers. This is the majority of the work done but it will need constant monitoring and input from us up to release. Keep an eye out on your social media, YouTube and Twitch to see people with early access play our game before Friday!

The Game Release

And this is pretty much it! Very exciting times here at ToastieLabs, we are busy and working hard to make sure the game is perfect for release. WooLoop

If you already follow game development updates, you may have seen snippets of WooLoop in our Dev Vlogs over the past year. A project Rob started in his spare time last Christmas! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1878910 A different take on our beloved game Coloring Pixels. The same relaxing and rewarding game feel but this time in a more creatively expressive manner!

What is WooLoop?

WooLoop is a game of creation. You build up great works of art by dragging your yarn in loops around various pins in your canvas. Slowly, one thread at a time, patterns will form, until eventually, you construct a beautifully woven masterpiece.
Wrap, weave, and wind your wool! Build works of art strand by strand, one loop at a time, in this tranquil game of craftsmanship. Draw inspiration from the large exhibition of levels available and unwind with the soothing soundtrack.

Follow Our Progress!

WooLoop is still a work in progress. Make sure you check out our Weekly Dev Vlogs on YouTube as well as Wishlisting the game on Steam to be kept up to date with all of the progress we make! We are planning to hold weekly Developer Broadcasts here on the Steam store page every Friday around 1 pm British Time so make sure you tune in for live interaction about the game! Who Shuffled My Shapes?

Our newest game project, Who Shuffled My Shapes?, is coming out early next month! If you can't wait to get your hands on our shapes, we have a demo that is available to play for free right now! Head over to the store page to download and play. Who Shuffled My Shapes? is a Rubik's cube-inspired game, our first step into creating puzzles in a 3D space. In order to make our game different to other digital cube games, we decided to go all-in and offer 20 different puzzles in 1 game! Multiple shapes and sizes are all included in this release. Who Shuffled My Shapes?

For those of you who follow our Dev Blogs, you will know that this is a game we have been working on for a number of months now. Based on our love for mind-teasing puzzle toys, we wanted to create a fun project to bring our enjoyment to the digital world - As such, "Who Shuffled My Shapes?" was born!

What is "Who Shuffled My Shapes?"(?)

Who Shuffled My Shapes? is a mega-pack of 20 famous puzzle cubes (and other 3D shapes) for you to solve to keep your mind sharp!
Various shapes have been shuffled and your goal is to un-shuffle them back to their original layout! Each puzzle is unique, you will have to learn each's nuances to solve them. Sounds simple but its not. With some of the simpler puzzles offering over 43 quintillion possible configurations (thats 43,000,000,000,000,000,000), finding the single correct one will be a challenge! If you do complete a puzzle, reshuffle it and try to beat your best time! The puzzles aren't all cubes. We have made 20 different puzzles for you to enjoy, from the classic 6 sided cuboids, 4 sided pyrmainx, all the way to 12 sided megaminx's, non-symmetrical mirror cubes and more!

The Future of hexceed!

In 2022 we are moving on to new projects such as new games and Nintendo Switch development, but we do not want to leave hexceed without support. As such we decided to see which direction you, the player, would like us to take hexceed. Over the past couple of months, we have been running a strawpoll to get your input on where we should take hexceed next with a reduced allocation of development time. Over 70% of you want to see more DLC. 57% of these voters want DLC to stay at the $1 price range. Combining your input with our own allocation of development time we have decided to go ahead with a Year 2 Pass! This Pass will be about half the size of Year 1, starting in March we are planning on adding 6 more DLC over the next 10 months with 2 new mechanics thrown in. More details will be coming soon so keep an eye out here!

Valentines!

We love how much you have responded to the Halloween and Christmas events in hexceed. And since it is the season of love, we have added a Valentines event that will run from February 10th to February 16th! Make sure "Seasonal Effects" are turned on in the settings page to take part in the update! So please tell us, will you be hexceed's Valentine?

We want to say thank you to all of our hexceed players! Both on Steam and on Nintendo Switch! When we released hexceed on Steam back in January we committed to providing 12 DLC over a 1 Year period.
Although our Switch players still have many months of DLC to look forward to as they catch up with the Steam release, sadly, our Steam players are going to be seeing the last of the DLC that we promised, release this month! We have thoroughly enjoyed seeing hexceed grow, but we want to move onto new projects in 2022 and so we have decided to put hexceed on the back seat. Don't worry! That does not mean we are abandoning the game!
In order to help us decide how much attention hexceed should get next year, we ask you to let us know what you would like to see going forward. Christmas Update

It's Christmas! (Or close enough for us to get excited) To celebrate we have added another seasonal effect! This one will run from the 1st of December through to the 31st of December! This event will repeat each year on the same dates, you can choose to take part by enabling or disabling the "Seasonal Effects" setting.
When the event is live, you will notice a few changes in the game (A whole new Winter makeover). The Christmas event changes the colour pallets used for the hexes, walls and background to have a festive wintery look. Danger tiles assets will be replaced with 9 different snowflake icons! Most excitingly - It's snowing in hexceed!

Halloween Update

At ToastieLabs we love Halloween! Well, any excuse to get festive and decorate the office really... So we decided to add an in-game event for hexceed between the 18th October to 31st October! This event will repeat each year on the same dates, and if you don't like it then you can turn it off by disabling the new "Seasonal Effects" setting.
When the event is live, you will notice a few changes in the game (It's rocking a new Pumpkin Patch look). The Halloween event changes the colour pallets used for the hexes to be more dark and earthy and danger tiles assets will be replaced with a new spooky pumpkin icon!

hexceed v1.9.22 Patch Notes

New Features

• Added Halloween Seasonal Event - The event runs between the 18th of October to 31st of October each year. It changes the look of the game, to be more seasonal replacing the usual danger tile Icon with pumpkins among other changes.
• Added new Setting "Seasonal Effects" - (Default On) For those who get spooked too easily. When you disable this setting, the Halloween event will be ignored and the game will look like normal.
• Added support for the Casus DLC

• Fixed a bug where the game will pan around a little bit when loading into a level. This was particularly noticeable in some of the levels in the most recent Illumina DLC.
